but tekken 6 looks like crap right now as well.. and is due around that time in arcades (Q4 2007 ish)... but I have faith that both companies can pull through, as they are both each companies respective killer app

gameplay adjustments are the reason anyone does a beta...its sortof like asking someone else to critique what you've written because you may not see the mistakes you've made... other than that you have a stress test which seems to be only popular for the MMO genre
I have never ever heard of a multiplayer beta being used to test and tweak graphics.... maybe graphical 'errors' such as bugged animations, or perhaps a particular particle isnt triggering when a catalyst occurs, etc...
only way I see graphics being tweaked is if its being done behind the scenes seperately from the MP Beta
mind you.. I'm not saying the graphics are 'bad' to the point where I'd throw up or anything.. but after seeing games like gears of war take such good advantage of the hardware.. its just a little disheartening to see that Halo 3 still has a ways to go... I feel the exact same way about tekken 6.. (and shii'.. that game only has 2 people and a background, and it looks like the hot mess that it does).. and I <3 fighting games

It's a YouTube video, for Chrissake.
Computer graphics and that of a HDTV are remarkably different.
If you HAD played the beta, then yes, you judging it would be credible since you had experienced it firsthand.
In the meantime, I don't think shooting your mouth off about graphics when you hadn't played it yourself is a smart idea.
Still, the graphics arent mind blowing. For an AAA title and the reason people bought the 360, the graphics should be alot better. Atleast on par with Gears Of War, but it aint. Not even close.
Could they atleast try something different with its art style. Everything looks like Halo 1, almost identical. That's an bad thing.
Seeing the graphcis during an cable program is pretty much the same as playing it. That's the great thing about graphics, you dont need to play the game to appreciate, or dis about. Why you think they advertise games with its graphics.....
I'm not going to not pick up the game because of graphics.... I want to play a game on Live and this looks like the game to play...but those graphics are seriously lacking.
Sats, beta's are also an cheap way to bug test too.

lol there you go again with acting like I'm dictating facts... this is a forum where everyone convenes to give their opinions.. right now.. for me.. halo 3 does not look staple of a next-gen title
