SaTsuJiN
Wielder of Thunder Seal
Some things I most definitely like :
- shields that prevent fire passing through them (be it the sphere-shield or the shielded doorways)
- charged plasma pistol shot temporarily disabling vehicles (why cant there be more of this creative gameplay thinking!?)
- spiked grenades for those corridor intense campfests
- ATV (I been wanting that since I played the first halo ><😉, though I 'was' hoping for a 2-seater.. sortof like a slower ghost
- saving the replays war3 style (i.e. in-game engine replays)
- support weapons that enter you into 3rd person perspective (very nice.. this opens up other creative possibilities)
- vehicle landmines, for those pesky crazed drivers.. though I bet its going to spawn a fair share of griefers (team killers)
Some things I dont :
- Q3 style jumper pads... they make you headshot fodder because their trajectory is predetermined.. I dont see how anyone gets a thrill out of killing a pad victim, its just too easy.. if they randomize the trajectory a tad I could see it becoming more interesting
- Plasma nades.. from the videos the blast radius seems to be reduced dramatically.. so this is iffy (dunno if it has or hasnt been nerfed)
- Sniper rifle still seems to be a nub cannon.. no recoil, multiple shots.. bleh.. I feel it should be balanced as the beam rifle has.. where you have to time the shots so you dont burn out, but of course have it logically work with the human technology (maybe firing too fast in succession decreases accuracy, or causes the barrel to smoke for a few seconds which reveals your location).. I just want 'something' more interesting than pow pow pow pow , reload , repeat , no consequence.
- Melee.. I like it.. but it still feels shallow.. I know they probably wont change it to make it more fun, but eh.. it is what it is right?
- Vehicle Hi-jacking... I like that this action can be performed.. but I think the driver should be able to fight back instead of being forced with the choice of "get out or be dead".. 😬

A gamespot article also gave their opinion on visuals :
Visually, the Halo 3 beta looks impressive. Yes, it looks like a higher-resolution version of Halo 2, but the textures and details are razor sharp, and there's a lush quality to the world that wasn't there before. You'll run through fields of flowers or your body will float in a tranquil pond. The high dynamic range lighting in the game also provides a realistic look to the lighting and the world. Meanwhile, there's a smoothness and fluidity to everything now that makes battles fun to watch.
