La Femme Nikita (1990)

My mom actually really loves this movie. She bought me the Blu-ray. Really good movie, at least the first 2/3. Great character arcs and excellent little drama/story. The final act was sort of unclear and not particularly engaging, though. So that sort of ruined it unfortunately. I think he must not have been sure how to end it. Makes me want to watch Leon: The Professional again, too.

Split. Very good. Much better than unbreakable.

Hoping to watch that soon.

Speaking of "They Live", if people have seen the South Park episode where the cripple and the retarded kid fight(Jimmy and Timmy). Apparently that entire fight in the episode is choreographed exactly like the fight between Keith David and Roddy Piper.

YouTube video

Here is a bit of context: a few seconds before this scene Keith Davids character has just given Roddy Piper an entire weeks worth of pay because Piper was wanted by the cops so he gave it to him so he could go try to start a new life somewhere else. The characters had known each other maybe for a few days, and Davids character was scrimping by saving money for his family, but he gives a weeks pay to Roddy. Yet..he draws the line at putting on a pair of sunglasses lol.

Slightly off topic: there is a video game called Saints Row 4 and in it you become president and Keith David becomes your VP. No, I don't mean Keith David voices a character who is your VP, I mean in the game your VP is specifically Keith David.

Saw They Live a few weeks back through my cable subscription.

And not for the first time. It's about as good as an 80's B movie gets. (Beats anything Hulk Hogan or Jesse Ventura's ever done, that's for sure.)

Yeah, but he was upstaged by Old Painless. 😛

For a long time I had not known where that "kick ass and chew bubblegum" line from Duke Nukem came from. Until watching "They Live" of course.

Blink and you'll miss him in Demolition Man.

Beauty and the Beast 9/10
A great fantasy romance movie which has unmistakable obvious scenes from the animated disney version but still has things not in the animated disney version so not a utter copy and paste.

Today
Going In Style (2017) 8/10
A decent entertaining funny movie.
Some of the funny stuff could be considered mean spirited but the rest of the funny things in the movie isn't dirty, mean spirited, or anything else like that which is terrific because a movie can be funny without that stuff.
The 3 main characters are all friends plus have other big problems besides getting fired plus no pensions. For Willie he does have a narrow window for living if he doesn't get a kidney soon.
Climax seem predictable for what would happen except 2 curve balls which is needed because a predictable climax is very boring.
