Wiccanism as a religion [Merged]

Started by debbiejo26 pages

Wicca has just gotten a bad rap. It's always has gotten a bad rap. It was never liked by authorities, couldn't really be assimilated and went underground. Though it is a peaceful religion. They new the use of herbs that we have to day, which is and was used for medical/psychological/physical ailments.

Now I am a Christian and what people would call a Jesus freak and was friends with this Wiccan dude awhile back. Nice guy... but a bit strange. He was always trying to get me to try some ritual or another and cast spells. Of course I had to decline since it just really wasn't my thing and I don't believe in magic. Anyways I have nothing against Wiccans, hell I was even friends with a Satanast once.

I don't think it should really matter what someone might believe because we are all people. no one should put down someone just because you don't believe what they might. Wicca is not evil just like christainy isn't or any of the others only people are evil not beliefs. Just because someone might not believe in one god or your god don't prosacute us or anyone just because we don't believe in your own belief.
If you do it will be the witch trails all over again. I for one would really not like to see those in person it is bad enough to read about them. Well that is what i believe how it should be at least.

All those wiccan chicks are pretty hot so i might join up for some action...

Brightest blessings everyone,

I know there are many Christians & Catholics who do not consider Wiccanism a religion, but I would like to ask you all how that could be? I am not starting a fight, or a heating discussion, I'm just curious!

Blessed be,

Wow you're really pretty 😍

It is obviously a religion, but they have one of the problems of any other religion that is if do wiccans really are in that religion for their spirituality, or it is just a way to get attention, or to socialize. Not all wiccans are like this, and not only wiccans are like this too, many christians are just in it for socialization, and many other religions too.

I take offence to the word "Mythology". How is our religion, which is thousands of years older than Christianity, be called a "Mythology", while yours can be classified as a religion. You're special symbol, the lovely cross that your saviour was crucified on, was stolen from the Pagans.

I don't think it's right to have such a closed mind about it. I am Wicca, yet I do not condone the other religions. I live by the phrase;

"It doesn't matter what you have faith in, as long as you have faith!"

That very code has been the cause of many deaths, as people acted blindly on their faith instead of reconcidering it's rightfullness.
Faith is only appropriate if the cause deserves it and if one focuses on wisdom before devotion.

I want some of those Wiccan clothes!!! 😱

There down right hot!

Wiccanism is an Earth-based religion. We believe in Mother Earth, the Goddess & the Horned God, the quarters of the earth, and complete balance between good & evil.

Ever see "Practical Magic"? In most senses, that's Wiccanism!

Wiccanism? It's wicca you dum ass!!! WICCA as a religion... not wiccanism! there is wicca and paganism... i havent actually read anything in this thread... i just wanted to correct you...

..violently, if I may add. 😬

We humans seem often compelled to violence...

Wicca IS NOT VIOLENT!!!

Infact they take care of all the earth because they respect it.

I was referreing to her comments, not the religion.. 🙂

Well from what I've read about them, they are lovers of the earth...............bad bad on pollution..........bad bad on harming nature..........and though I am not that of that belief, I concur..

actually catholics and christians prefer to be seperated as not to impose that their beliefs are the same.... for that sole fact they should be listed seperate, as should all of the other religions (base or denomination).

thats just like how u must select what race u are on forms:

it doesnt say

people _
other _

they are listed seperately for the convenience of u, dont make things more complicated than they need to be.

I thought modern people referred to it as "Witchcraft".....

Witchcraft refers to the worship of pagan gods, though really it is a discriminatory term used by the church. Wiccan's are a relativly new religion though, some of the deities worshipped sterm from german pantheon. It is really like catholicism and christianity were different forms of jewish traditions, the difference being the savior has come. Wiccan practices are a branch of a german religion/religions or prehaps a cross cultural mix of religions.

Wicca is a new religion based on old ideas. It is often confused with the practice of witchcraft, and though very similar they are not the same thing. Wicca is a religion whereas Witchcraft is a practice. The practice of witchcraft is not associated with any religion, therefore you can be a witch and yet also be a member of any number of religions. Not all Witches are Wiccan, nor are all Wiccans Witches.
