I was being sarcastic.

I know a great deal about Christianity, and did not reject it, I embraced it. The more I learned, the more I realized what people were telling me was not in the bible. That was over 20 years ago. I have learned the truth that is in the bible and it is not Christianity. Christianity is a Roman invention. There is no hell outside of this life you live. We all live in heaven, life after life, or in hell, the choice is yours. I feel sorry for you, for you are a slave to a childish, man made god. If you stop looking outside of yourself, you will have the strength to realize your enlightenment. Yes, you and every one else are the children of God, and enlightenment is your nature. We are all asleep, all we need do is wake up. [/B]

Im sick of people using that fact that they came from a crap church as fuel to bash Christianity all-together. I mean, real Christian preachers challenge you to search the Bible yourself and to not just take their word for things. Im sick of people coming from bad churches and in the end dropping Christianity all-together without taking the chance to visit other Pentecostal churches that aren't so messed up and un-Biblical and then saying the crap that your saying thats not even in Bible. I mean, what book are you getting this from because I know its not the same Bible i've been reading.

So you have heard this from other people? I thought my story was unique. I guess there are a lot of us.

Yeah, I always hear stories about people who come from bad churches were the pastors were un-biblical and the people were judgemental and in the end they end up walking away from Christianity all-together without actually understanding that its not the church that should be drawing you to the religion but the Bible and Gods love that should be attractive to you.

My story is a little different. I don't tell the details because I need to be careful about reviling privet information, but it involved a preacher who molested his two daughters.

I know what you mean, and I don't use that as an excuse. I use it as a way to see who you really are. There are a lot of evil people claiming to be Christians. Do you know how to find them out? You slap them in the face, if they hit you back, then their faith is week and they are not what they say. Of course, I only do this with words, and I try to be gentle.

You are using it as an excuse. Just admit it. I dont care about the evil people claiming to be Christians. They are going to burn in hell for their hypocrisy. The only thing that matters to be is the condition of my soul and that of my loved ones.

You're suppose to love God your you. It shouldn't matter what happened with anyone else or what kind of horror stories you have about Christian people because they're obviously not Christian.

so you are judging them, what a christian treat so in line with the actual way of christians. By saying what you just did you just one who claim to be a christian as well

The only thing that matters to be is the condition of my soul and that of my loved ones
this just emphasised what I said

What??!!??...You don't care about the evil Christian??.....But they're Christians just like you......Now you're condemning them to hell, making yourself judge and jury?.......As I've said before. Would god choice a non believer with the fruits of the spirit or a believer with no fruits?

So, I don't really have any one person to quote. I've been reading all of your comments, and trying to formulate exactly what to say. Let me begin by reminding you: people are not perfect, Christian and nonChristian alike. That is why Jesus came to die for our sins. I am in no way whatsoever excusing the preacher for molesting two young girls, but I am reminding you that all people mess up. One sin is equal to the next, each person has sinned and fallen unbelievably short. There is no excuse for the actions that we, all humans, make. It is a pity when people claim to be Christians and fail so badly, for they make us all look bad. I fail, many times, but I admit my wrongs and ask forgiveness and try my best to repent of them. There is no such thing as an evil Christian. Either someone is a Christian and saved by the grace of God, or they are still under the slavery and yoke of sin. Some people claim they are Christians without ever really knowing God. That is a vital part of Christianity: relationship and fellowship with God. That is why He created us: to worship Him. I wish that people would only claim to be what they are. For those of you who have come from churches that weren't completely Bible based, I can totally sympathize, for I have been there. It really can make or break you. For me, it made me stronger. I realized that my faith is not in imperfect people but in a perfect God. While others fail me, God never will.

I wish that people would only claim to be what they are
do nothing else

Thank you for that post, and I respect your opinion. However, there are some significant differences in our beliefs. I believe that good and evil are inherent properties is all things including God. So, I believe there are good Christians and evil Christians. According to Christian dogma, if you are saved and baptized you will be filled with the Holy Spirit. The way this is manifest in ones life is clearly spelled out in the bible. Do you think Punker69 fits this description, based on his answer above? I think he is filled with hate, is that the Holy Spirit? I have been on the inside and now I am on the outside looking in and I think there are some good teachings in Christianity but a lot of people who claim to be Christians are not changed because of it, or they must have been really bad before. I could be wrong about this, what do you think?

I'm just tired of Christians exclsuvism and there inconsistence...does any christian actually read the bible?

I wanna belive in god but for some reason I just cant.. My dad died on 9/11 and I guess I just wanna think that somehow there is a heaven and a place up there and a god, but when I just think of all the facts and everything its just hard imagining there being a heaven, what makes you all belive that there is a heaven and a god?

I come from a very religious family, and growing up I was taught that there was a God and there was a heaven and a hell. But not that I'm an adult, and I'm doing what I do for a living. I just...don't see how there could be a God.

I was taught that God loved all his creations...so why would he allow all of these terrible things like murder, rape, kidnapping, wars, etc. go on?

That's not gods bidding, that's sin! The earth is dying, and soon the end will come, then the believers will go to the new world and watch this one die.
Rape, killing etc... That's not god, it's the immoral people who deserve to be swept into hell. And wars, that's a sign of the end also.

You will never see it. My father said over and over again the Jesus was coming by the year 2000. I guess he is late. 🙄

No one will know the time, so any time that is set, is wrong. So, you say it is soon, I know that is wrong.

The signs were only STARTING in 2000!
Just because no human knows when it's going to happen doesn't mean it won't. So much has been happening since 2000, the bombs, the terrorism, the racism, the war, the riots, the hurricanes(even in britain), tsunamis....

I'm a Christian and I agree that those all may be signs of things shifting that way, ..however, "time" and "soon" are both relative concepts to God.

Not only can we not predict what he will do, but we cannot predict when.

We were given a weather forcast and a brief description of the order of things in Revelations, but no time line.

Remember my friend, "He will come as a thief in the night". 🙂
