Cap shook the Surfer's hand. "Thank you," Captain America returned. "I'm not sure we could have taken the Hulk down without your assistance. If I can ever return the favor, don't hesitate to call. The Avengers are at your service, friend."
***And they all lived happily ever after. The End.***
***Just kidding! Where do you guys want to take this story from here? I have an idea if you want me to run with it.***
***I'm going to kick off my idea, and you guys can follow suit with your own characters.***
Captain America decided to walk home back to his small apartment in Brooklyn. After the briefing on the Helicarrier with Nick Fury and the sedated Dr. Banner, it was decided that there were still some things that didn't add up about the whole Green Goblin debacle, but since the chip from Doc Ock's neck had completely fried out, as well as the chips discovered in the rest of the bad guys, and Osbourne had yet to regain consciousness, the investigation was put on hold. Cap left the investigating up to the better equipped S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and Bruce anyway. He was a soldier; not Sherlock Holmes.
As Cap walked home in the dark, lost in his thoughts, he didn't notice the strange object following behind him. The small sphere floated along silently, tracking Captain America's movements along the streets and alleyways of New York. As Cap reached a particularly dark alley, a shortcut to his apartment, the sphere shot down and stopped in front of him. Cap came up short at the sudden movement, his nerves tingling, his taut muscles already surging with adrenaline and preparing for a fight. He whipped off his jacket, revealing the shield strapped over his back, and pulled the disc off and into position in one clean motion.
A voice spoke: "Captain America, you have been chosen. You will represent your reality in a contest to decide the fate of it's existence. Step into the dark."
A beam of "dark light" shot out and enveloped the hero. He lunged to the side, trying to distance himself from the shadowy beam, but he could feel his body being pulled into the darkness. He spun in the air and threw his shield at the floating sphere, hoping to damage the source of the beam, but as his shield passed into the darkness it disappeared. Cap landed hard on his feet and realized he was cornered. As the sphere floated closer, Captain America weighed his options and realized the globe had him trapped.
"Well, I've never been one to run from a challenge," Cap said to the sphere. As he stepped into the darkness, he felt his body being pulled from his reality. "Can I have my shield baaaaaccckk..."
Scarlet Spider was swinging and jumping above rooftops when he saw a beam confront Captain America....It sucked him in....He decided to go down and the orb was flying away so he tried to jump onto it but instead he fell inside of it....It seemed like an empty hole of just black.......just black.....
