Jesus looked, we don't know for sure if he had a beard or long hair. He doesn't look like the jesus we see in the pictures. that was there opinion of what he looked like. But the Jews were blending a little with roman culture with shorter hair and no beards. We don't know for sure, the bible never gave a description of what he looked like.

Jesus lived in and around Nazareth and Galilee. I suppose he would look like most men at that time. I don't think they would have followed someone who looked strange or foreign. After all, he grew up as a Jew and had to live by Jewish tradition.
