Good Sir,
My comments were not a claim, my comments were facts As per the comics of hulk. his strength inclines with his anger period.
Superman throwing an Aircraft carriers weight at the speed of sound is most impressive indeed but thats does not constitute a comparison of limitless strenght.
Now you bring up the word ignorant while referring to my "claim". Yes I havent forgot about that Sir.
You should choose your words more carefully. Ignorant would be more like me saying "Hulk is stronger because I said so" as Iv'e seen the moderators do quite often. Can it be viewed as an opinion..perhaps but on paper I have not seen how Supermans strength can match to limitless strength. now with that said...(sits back down, sips drink, turns around and goes back to work).

Byrne-level Superman, meaning Superman before he had a single power-up, had a feat involving an extraterrestrial space craft that was 4 times the size of an aircraft carrier. An aircraft carrier weighs nearly 100,000 tons. Let's lowball the estimate a bit and say the spaceship weighed 300,000 tons.Going by this link--
http://www.powerliftingwatch.com/files/PLWR-M-08-26-12.pdf
--the world power lifting record for a squat(which would use stronger muscles than holding an object over your head like Superman did) is 1,267 lbs(rounded up) lbs from a 303 lbs power lifter, if I'm reading this right. So this would be far, far more than an average person. This would come to 6,335 tons. The weight of the ship is over 47 times your claim of the maximum Superman can lift, and remember I'm lowballing the ship's weight, and high-balling your claim based on the world powerlifting record for a squat(which uses stronger muscles than what Superman did with the ship).
This is also going by the assumption that Superman merely lifted the ship, instead of what really happened. He threw it into orbit, meaning he'd have to throw it a few dozen times the speed of sound, making the feat far, far more than lifting 300,000 tons above his head. And this isn't even his most impressive feat from BEFORE he ever got a power-up.
You made one of the most ignorant claims I have ever seen.
But when you compare feats, Superman simply rapes Hulk. Sorry.
Even if he can't in New 52, this topic was started in early 2005, making New 52 completely irrelevant. Superman's feats are simply superior to Hulk's. Deal with it.
Quantum physics.....
Super (while flying) speed x mass = strength
Hulk (while standing still) anger x angerx anger (9) infinite
just saying.

um yeah it is cause he is SUPERMAN, the only superman that is canon at the moment. the thread's title is "who's stronger superman or hulk" not "who's stronger post crisis superman or hulk" the thread starter left it at "superman" so you have to use the one that is currently canon instead of reaching all over the character's rebooted history.
listen, hulk is stronger and would smash superman jaw to pieces.

I don't "have" to do anything.
The thread was started when Pre-reboot Superman was the current Superman.
That's the one that's being argued. Period.

key word "was"
now 52 superman is the current superman. it's been this way for over a year. the thread starter never specified.
you're right, you don't have to do anything just like i don't "have" to agree with you.

This isn't the vs forum. It's pre-reboot Superman in a contest of strength with Hulk.
You don't have to agree, but that's what the thread is.
