Superman is the worst character EVER.

Not really.

Superman has way way WAY too much power.🙁

There are many factors that lead to his crappiness. He may not be the worst, but he's faaaaaaaar from the best.

I used to think this, too. But, the more I think about it, the more I realize that he isn't too powerful, he just looks like it in comparison to his human enemies.

When is the last time Superman lost a fight that wasn't due to P.I.S C.I.S?

He sucks because he has no real threats to himself. He just flies around trying to impress normal humans with his durability..

and i agree with you on this. but the character of superman isnt the problem, its the writing.

if you changed supes costume. got rid of the "american way" crap that no one cares about (this isnt the cold war anymore) but kept his good ways and morals. (but toned down a little his boyscoutness, which is due to the writing)

and made some new enamies capable of giving supes a good fight (and that arnt cheesy) his comics would be awesome.

also they need to make clark kent have more of a role in the comics. they need to do a lot of the issues that he would have about being superman and clark kent, (kinda like in smallville) where he faces these issues and all that, not as superman, but as clark kent.

in short if you had a complete overhaul of the superman stories (another "crisis" for superman maybe?) then he could be an awesome character, he just needs to be revamped for today, because currently his writers have kept him frozen in the past.

Ditto. Smallville is a great show and I'm pissed about not seeing the Aquaman episode.

They should use one of the costumes posted in this thread here . They should never have him w/Fabio hair again unless he's also going to have a beard. They should get rid of powers like freeze breath and soul vision. They should come up w/a really good way to explain the Glasses as a disguise.

no, heat vision (i assume thats what your talking about) is an awesome power. i agree the freeze breath is a little dumb and if they did get rid of it i wouldn't care, but heat vision rules and they should never get rid of it.

his powers should be:

super strength
super hearing
telescopic vision
x-ray vision
heat vision
flying
super speed
invulnerability

IMO anyways.

See, my problem with him is his " invulnerability." He should have been as a being of near invulnerability, but not complete. That is one of my gripes with the guy. A guy who can't be hurt is boring. With a capital B! I wanna see him eat a hard, crater making fist and get his jaw broke. I don't want him to shrug it off. Thats why i like Thor. He's tough, but can still be hurt. Plus he's immortal. When did it ever say that Kryptonians lived forever? My hate isn't for Supes, but the way his writers make him so all powerful. If he had decent writing, then i'd pick up a comic again. Last comic arc of his i bought was the death and return arc.

I honestly wish your assumption was right. Superman can see your soul now. Heat Vision is great. Soul Vision is a new power he's using now.

oh, well yea i agree thats just retarted. (im not too up to date on current supes comics)

that sounds oddly like a pre-crisis superman ability! (were not going back towards pre-crisis are we) ??????

😘

Anyone remember his wall building vision from the reeves movies 😆

No. But I think I'm better off that way.

Sorry mate, but Supes hasn't been totally invulnerable since 1986.

Thor has made him bleed.

Captain Marvel has made him bleed.

I'd like to see his jaw broken 😈

lol, i remember that. When Nuclear Man (Destroy, Superman!) exploded the Great Wall and Supers some how willed bricks out of mid-air quickly rebuilding the Wall. I watched it with my nephew and even he was like "what the hell?" and he's 9. This was a month ago..

Actually,Superman IS immortal. There are two versions of Superman that show that.Kingdom Come Superman and Superman Prime.

He's not immortal, he's just ageless or very close to it.

He can die, but he can also probably live for a few thousand years given enough energy.

Only a few heroes are truly immortal, meaning they can't die at all, ever.

I think the origin of freeze breath was this...

Know when you blow on something hot to cool it down? Well, since nearly all of Supe's abilities are amped human ones, someone took this "blow-on-hot-soup-to-cool-it-down" thing and ran with it. At best, Superman shoulda been able to just cool hot things off faster, since it is the dissipation of localized heat which cools things off, not one's breath per se.

I found pre-crisis Superman boring as hell. When I rediscovered Superman through his animated series in the 90s, and saw how much weaker he was (which, paradoxically, was a little hard to take), then the character began to interest me. Now, because of his iconic power, he's a fave of mine.

However - if I've said this once, I've said it a thousand times - New Costume!! At the very least, get rid of the red swimming trunks!

Haters....

OHHHHH!!! We got some haters in the house. Too many powers? He's SUPERMAN. lol He's also a great role model and the original. Worst superhero?? Man, you haters must get some really really good crack rock!! Smoke another one PIG.
