those are facts but also look at the others. In the CoS Dobby told harry that it wasn't voldermort who was opening the chamber, not voldermort but in the end, it was Tom Riddle, who was a young Lord Voldermort. Also on JKR's website, somebody had asked what wouldn've happened if Tom had come compleatly out of his diary. JKR said that she could not answer the question yet, but it would've made the current voldermort stronger. It has to play some part yet if she can't tell us.
I'm not saying that Tom Riddle has to be the HBP i'm just saying we should keep him open

EXACTLY! Voldy=Tom Riddle. Just two different names. ONE PERSON.
I don't think the person was mentioned in COS. Just because it's something small does not mean it's a person.
Unless it's Dobby........but Dobby appeared MANY times in COS. They were all just short parts.
I still think it's going to be Mark Evans. JKR is not going to tell us who it is or is not.
THINK OF A SMALL MINOR THING SAID OR DONE IN COS! Nothing big and defintely nothing of value importance at the time!!!
angelsflame...your not talking to yourself, i'm listening! 🙂 and i understand what your saying, i don't really want to take anybody out of the picture either...but as of now, i still don't think its Tom, like other ppl have said, its too obvious...this is JK we're talking about here! 😛 The night when i opened the door, and wasn't even sure if HBP was the real title, my first thought was tom/voldy...not only that, but to me, they are still the same person, what i think really seals the deal is that in order for him to come back to power he had to use his fathers grave, which as you know, read "Tom Riddle"...this also refers to the fact that they are the same person....and if your a christian, like me, think about the trinity...three in one...except for this its more like two in one (but please don't think i'm comparing christianity to harry potter, cuz you obviously can't do that! 🙂) in all reality, i think its gunna be somebody totally unexpected...but for now, i'm still going w/ the Mark Evans theory, works best w/ all the clues i think.
