Dumbledore said that when Voldemort re-emerged after his years at Hogwarts he was almost completely unreckognizable and a different person, so it could still be Tom Riddle, but i doubt it, his only memory that was left of him was destroyed, so who knows lol

And also, it would be too obvious. Who else was only mentioned in CoS?

remember in Cos wen Tom Riddle says he is Voldemort's past, present, and future. and then he goz on to say he is voldemort. he says something like, "So i got a name that i knew one day it woul strike fear into the hearts of wizards across the world." then he scrambles TOM MARVOLO RIDDLE to VOLDEMORT. So he IS voldemort.

He is Voldemort's past, he doesn't have all the powers of Voldemort yet and, like you said Wizardkid, "..Will ONE DAY strike the fear into wizards..." So technically, he isn't the Voldemort that everyone fears, he is the memory of the teenager that becomes him, still leaving it as a possibility that it is Tom

There are so many battles for each side, I think we should just keep him in mind for the half-blood prince

I agree w/ Secosera_TD cuz Tom becomes Voldy, he's not the true Voldy, after he becomes Voldy noone even recognizes him r nething.
Besides the HBP has to be someone big in COS b/c it was gonna b the title n JK wouldn't just have put in random things in COS so it has to be someone in COS, the person has to have some relevance to COS it can't besomething ompletely out there

whatever it is.. it was tom who learned dark arts so enthusiastically that he started fascinating them... he became evil.. he started to get power... he wanted to rule everything.. do u know the merovingian from the matrix? tom actually started to act like him... he then ONLY CHANGED HIS NAME... ok?

Voldemort and Tom Riddle are the same people!! Why on earth would JKR make Tom Riddle say at the end of COS " I will cease to be a memory. Voldemort will return, Very much alive!" Just because the clever tom riddle delved with dark magic for a good few years and then came back out of the woodwork looking unrecognisable because of the dark magic he has experimented with, doesn't mean he is no longer the same person??????? Come on!! thats silly!! Plus if they are the same person, he wont be the Half Blood Prince either as JKR has already said that!! xx
