Actually, that's Han Solo's horrible attempt at b's-ing, and as soon as he's done claiming it, you can see Obi-Wan's expression saying "I'm not buying it, Correlian', then Han quickly changes the subject to something else.

That would definitely be a better explanation than some of them that I've heard. Lucas claimed it meant that the Falcon was fast because it had a good navicomputer. Of course, I would sure hope that a pilot would know the difference between units of time and distance.

Han Solo went to the best schools on Corellia, I would also hope that he the difference between units of time and distance, Docb.

Don't feel bad, Star Wars has it's contradictions too... "made the kessel run in less than 12 parsecs. LOL. That's great, and then all the verbal acrobatics that lucas and other authors went to to explain it. Priceless!

Actually, this was explained because of flying that close to a cluster of blackholes. By flying closer than was recommended, he cut the distance; hence, made it in 12 parsecs.

Hooray for extensive EU knowledge in the EU section.

Yeah, that's one of those wacky explanations I was talking about. It still doesn't make sense when you listen to the conversation. They were talking about how fast the ship was, not how good it could take shortcuts.

All he said was "It's the ship the Kessell run in less than 12 parsecs." Actually they were talking about speed later in the docking bay when he says "She can make .5 passed Lightspeed".

Wesker, perhaps I'm incredibly dense, but I don't understand how the "antediluvian -- stop the flood" thing fits with the Resident Evil theme or whatever it is.

Read the Han Solo trilogy, it explains the situation in excellent detail. The point is the Kessel run is a serious acheivement for smugglers and shady times trying to outrun Imperial vessels. Ships must be fast AND maneuverable to navigate that close to blackholes without being sucked in.

Inside joke. An antediluvian predates the "flood"; flood in this case being the flood of noobs to the Star Wars Versus Forum. We're dedicated to using rational arguments and sanity in the face of fanboyism and just plain-ol' ignorance.

IS that technique working?

❌ 😆

Nope. The only people you want to introduce to rational thought can't accept it in the first place.

Yeah, you're probably right. I think that most people are guilty of it at some point though.

Well, everyone has their moments of disbelief or where they don't want to accept the idea that they are wrong and fallible. But the problem is in the people who consistantly live in denial.

I know what you mean. It isn't as bad when it's about whether ST or SW is better, but if they act that way about something so simple, they probably live their lives that way. It's best to live your life open to new ideas and experience, because it is often difficult to prove your position beyond a doubt, even when science is concerned.

Yeah, that's a good way to be. There's always new information coming out to change one's viewpoint. Anyone who has a firm belief on anything before age 35 is suspect.

You heard it here first. I am once again a servant of the Light. I believed Star Trek was so much better for years. Years I hadn't watched the Original Trilogy of Star Wars. How wrong I was. How wrong I was. I hereby apologise to all of you for my false conviction to Trek. I was not at all swayed by any arguments you had provided, it was just something I had to find out for myself.

So please. Will you welcome me back to Star Wars fandom?

welcome back, amazing what a well told story will do, isn't it?

I wonder what happened to George during the 20 years between trilogies.

Welcome back, Lord Chariol!

Thank You. It'll never happen again.

I'm taking the 1000 spot.
