Still :

1977 - Star Wars - it looked real, awesome. Completely and utterly.

1978 - Star Trek : The Motion Picture - Looks like a screensaver.

Wars has way better movies also. No debating that. Some of those episodes of TNG kick the holy hell out of most of the Wars movies.

Sure....

WTF? TOS did not look real, man. Not even close. And Star Wars WTFpwns TNG for sheer realism. Hell, TGN guns are shaped like dust busters.

They both look as real as a girl from LA.

Besides, he was saying he liked some of the TNG episodes more than the SW movies but the SW movies looked more real to him.

Inspite of them both being far fetch, most of the Trek stuff makes more sense to me. Like stuff we have today, or stuff we had back in the 80's or so, kicked up a couple notches.

There is one episode of TNG called "Darmok," which is an episode I like a whole lot more than the Prequels and Return of the Jedi. It doesn't beat A New Hope or Empire, but it's good.

For that particular episode it was the story that was the best part, nevermind that the special effects looked like something done for an office training video.

I don't recall that episode but the summary sounds pretty good.

Did you look it up or are you making fun of me for not posting a summary?

It's in season 5.

No, I looked it up. It's got a nice message to it.

SW wins. It's not about what looks better. It's about who would win. And SW would win. It would be a massacre. SW totally decimates ST in ground combat, and in space.

Star Trek Death Star, ten seconds before Earth basically blows up like Alderaan.

Lets add a twist- SW universe vs. ST universe vs. Halo universe... thats a tough one.

Depends on how you look at it. If enough Halo's go off at once, there's no contest. There just wouldn't be anybody left to fight... anywhere. My favourite show right now is Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda. The story runs a little bit thin every once in a while, but the special effects are totally awesome. I don't know if all of Andromeda would win vs. all of SW because Andromeda only has two timelines, and SW has dozens, but I would definitely hope for Andromeda.

They would probably have a problem with never existing and all.

*spazes out* TIME TRAVEL!

You blurt out the words "time travel" almost as much as TRS says "apples and oranges' or "I was born in the SW era but I grew up with ST".

Is or is not offensive time manipulation an effective method of attack?

I think it would be. While trying to SAVE a civilization, they nearly destroyed thousands of space-faring civilizations. Imagine that if it were used offensively.

Did you ever prove to the rest of us that is was within the exact same timeline that one could "slip back" and alter things. If that was indeed the case, there would literally be no fight. The time paradox would kick in. Look at it this way (Which is exactly why there's separate timelines and universes)...

IF the ST crew sends an attack squad back in time and to another galaxy to defeat SW in the past, THEN they must have failed. Why? Well, If they succeeded, SW would not exist as a threat, thus they would never have needed to send anyone back. The paradox just envelops that plan.

Dude... your a prick... yeah I have said those things several times... cause the Apples and Oranges things is MY perspective, and the growing up comments are MY life... so go be like Luke and kiss your sister. You turn what should be a civil discussion into a violent argument.

So lets just dissagree... in your opinion SW wins...

and just because you hold that opinion I am reverting back to my original position of saying that ST would win...

And I dont have to argue it cause its my opinion just like you have yours.

I have provided my side of the arguments in an attempt to be fair to both sides and its always the SW pricks like you that just cant admit that ST has its fair share of great technology and great stories. Its SW fanboys like you that have a close minded view.

So I will revert back to my bitc* move and just have Q snap his fingers and the entire SW universe dissappears. Nothing you can do about it. Its gone... you can go cry now.

And probably to your joy, I am leaving this discussion cause like I have said over and over, its pointless and I cant believe that I have stooped to this low of a level that I actually engaged in it.

Grow up, move out of your parents basement...

You Trekkie fanboy. I've read this whole thread, and you've spouted out those lines since I can remember. It's not about what you like more it's about who would win in combat. You say you love Star Wars more. And know more about it. But if you really did know anything about it, you would know that Star Wars whips their asses. And whatever happened to that short story of yours? The one where Luke and Q fight, and Luke won. The one you yourself wrote. Please fanboy don't waste my time with your nonsense. Your argument is full of holes. Supposing both the ST galaxy and the SW galaxy had the same measurements. We would win, no contest. You've said you would leave before and never come back more than once. Let's see if this time you actually don't come back.
