Revenge of the Sith- Oscars? (Merged)

Unless you are actually suggesting a nomination for Ewan, I agree with everything you just said...

Remeber it's a Lucas-Film AND it's a FOX-Film.
It's not gonna win ANYTHING!

Ewan gave the most pleasing performance I have seen this year...not as good as Ian...but it's two different categories.

I thought the Sound Editing was good this time around.

Hmm... Ewan did a great job, for sure. But Oscar-worthy? I don't think so. I don't think they'll even consider him.

Ewan and Hayden did good jobs, but Ian stole the show, and I think he has the best chance.

But Ian is a supporting actor...its two different categories.

Who else...so far would be up for best actor in a leading role?

(other than the obvious Russ Crowe for the Oscar mug CM.)

George Lucas/Baron Papanoida for best smurf/blue meanie in a supporting role

AHH! I had to go to page 4 for this thread!

😖

I actually don't want it to win for VFX... I really don't think it deserves it. While there was some very good work in there (excellent work even) there was a lot of crap as well...

Dunno how you could say that.

Of course I shouldn't really say anything this early in the year, when there's really been nothing to compare it to. I just hope there is some better work to come this year.

There were parts in Episode III that looked very cartoony that just really annoyed me...

Well, again, that cartooniness is just an example of the intentional stylish look of the film.

Star-wars ain't really a movie that's took serious ya know

That is ridiculously false. Alot of people take it seriously. There are so many fans, including alot of actors.

Sorry...again, I have NEVER heard anyone say that the Prequels were supposed to have a cartoonish style look on purpose.

We need to keep this thread alive. It was on page 5 when I found it. Let's keep the debating strong.

War of the Worlds, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and King Kong will all be tough competition---Spielberg and Jackson, two Academy favorites, both coming out with uber blockbusters....

I would necessarily call Spielberg an Academy favorite. Sure, he's won two for directing, but many would say he deserves more.

And I have a feeling the Academy won't be going crazy over KK, simply because Jackson won so much for LOTR.

Yeah, I kinda agree with that, though it might be good to wait until we actually see some of these films before we start judging 😉

btw, did anyone see the trailer for Narnia? That looked awful. VFX wise, that is...

He's right, you're all just a bunch of nerds... no one really gives a damn about you, atleast the people that actually have lives that is... dont get me wrong star wars is tight, but some of you people take things like this too far...

The VFX could have been much better.
