Revenge of the Sith- Oscars? (Merged)

(Will Revenge of the Sith win Oscars for best special effects?
In 1999 Phantom Menace lost to the Matrix and in 2002 Attack of the Clones lost to The Two Towers. Something tells me they'll give it to War of the Worlds. That's Lucas' big competition this year.)

I think Rots will win this movie is better than the rest and in this one the other charaters look better and World of the wars 😛 the Rots line up was the biggest one in the theatre and who nominates these movies ? I hope it wins GLs did a great job 😄

Still bitching about nothing, huh?

No, actually I was bitching about the crappy job they did with the Clone Troopers...

It wasn't a crappy job.

The helmetless troopers did suck, but damn the others didnt. When Cody is being addressed by Sid, that looked great.

A lot of the Clone Trooper work was crappy... though there was a lot of good work.

The scene where Bail goes to the Jedi Temple is by far the best Clone work in the film... especially the closeup stuff.

The red clones after the Yoda duel wher well done.

About the Clones: I don't think Lucas is trying to make them look as photo-real as possible. I think he intentionally wants them to appear as being computer-generated.

And why would he want to do that?

Riiiiiight. Just like he wanted Jar-Jar Binks to be the most revered Star Wars character ever.

I'm pretty sure I addressed this a few pages back. He wants the films to have a stylish, original look to them. He's not striving towards super-realistic visuals, unlike Peter Jackson and LOTR.

I completely disagree....

If that's the case, the original trilogy would have been animated. His mission with special effects is to make them look as real as possible.

AND

If that were the case...he should be dragged out into the street and shot, then run over by a semi truck, and then have the word: "I liked raping baby monkeys!" written on his corpse.

Sorry Harry...but that's about the lamest thing I've ever heard.

^ I agree.

Say what you want. If Lucas wanted these films to look real, they would look real.

And don't call me Harry.

My point by saying this comes from knowing that ILM has made better-looking films before (well, more realistic). Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was an excellent-looking film. Had he wanted to, Lucas could have easily made a film visually reminiscent of something like HP3.

I don't believe that... I think they tried their best to get the Clonetroopers looking realistic but failed.

But I'm not Lucas so what the hell do I know...

Boga looked awesome.

Indeed she did.

I liked the crash sequence. Anyone else?

Very meh for me.
