Boy, I was a real prick last Jan. in this thread.

Sorry Todd! 😛

Only last jan.? 😛

😛

Hey I'm in prick rehab okay?

I think I've been very nice over the last few months!

(political threads not counting.) 😮

You have been nice. ss rules!

At least John "photoshop" Knoll won an Oscar for PotCII.

Too bad ROTS didn't come out in 2006, they would have wasted the competition that year.

Come to think of it, why didn't that big load Peter Jackson open that silly King Kong retread of his in 2006 too, leaving the door open for Lucas & Co.?

Because Jackson kicks Lucas's ass any day.

Um ROTS had very little innovation in its special effects, especially as compared to TPM or AOTC.

Unfortunately Jackson does kick Lucas' ass as a director, but may I add that Lucas has a more inspiring story.

Well it's hardly Jackson's story is it?

Oh please, the openings space battle of ROTS kicked anything in that King Kong retread. Shoulda won the oscar right there.

Remakes stink. We've seen them before. Parts of the '30s original Kong looked better than the digiKong.

😂

Just glad knoll got his oscar.

Yeah, he deserves it.

Indeed, so did all of ILM.

They really broke alot of ground in digital effects for the PT.

From the first photo-realistic CG character to interact seamlessly with humans (watto and the much-reviled Jar-Jar) to synthetic terrain generation (the Podrace, in which some shots including sky, sand, pods, and aliens were all digital), to advances in digital clothing, and in EPIII having light and sun reflected through Yoda's ears like a real person's, to the digital head replacements for Dooku's sword double....

to much, much more.

And it's total BS that ILM never got any Oscar's for the PT.

Well, others do good jobs as well these days. Look at Weta for instance.

^^^agreed, and gollum desreved his own FX oscar.

But the point is that the PT did it BEFORE "these days"... they did it first in fact, and they were shafted. 😛

Not all of the PT.
