Instead of Oscar nominations, I can no doubt see Razzies for this movie and in fact some awards for Hayden's very bad acting.Remember our own Anakin won a Razzie in 2002 for Attack of the Whatever

Psh-sh-sh. They'll give Razzies to anybody nowadays... they hand 'em out like Emmys. Star Wars is an easy target for the razzies; people have hammered Star Wars actors every since 1977. Not everyone liked it back then, and not everyone thought TESB was a masterpiece either.

I thought HC's acting was fine in AOTC, and very good in parts, especially the chilling "I slaughtered them like animals" bit.

May vote goes to War of the Wolrds. The Tripods are some of my favorite visual effects designs.

Revenge of the Sith visual effects OWN anything else right now.....nothing else comes close, its combination of CG and Miniture Models in this particular episode are phenominal......anyone who says they can see right through it and it looks cartoony don't know jack shit and are just looking for attention.

Im a Digital Artist by profession and hold an MSc in Computer Graphics and currently work for EA Games (yeah not the film industry but along the same lines) and i know what im talking about.
The Effects in ROTS surpass anything out there.

But for reasons that many others have already stated, it probably wont win due to Oscar Politics.

Hayden did very well in AOTC in Owen's shop, but nothing will go to him, or anyone for that matter, in ROTS. Maybe Ian.

I also think Narnia a is a big time contender for FX.

Yes...Narnia was breath-taking. Absolutely fantastic. I agree with the sentiment that ROTS won't win anything, I really do hope it does, but I doubt it'll be nominated for anything. Golden Globes? Shunned...so we'll see what the Academy does.

Only 3 films get nominated for FX, in a year where al least 8 films could be. It will come down to Episode III or King Kong, I think. But if the academy is tired of showering Peter Jackson with Oscars, then Sith could win - this time the critics were firmly in support to match the huge box office, and this one is the payoff for Ep. I & II.
I am still hoping Ian Mcdiarmid can sneak in for supporting actor.

DD, do you have those in hi-res? And I fully expect ROTS to be shut out of the Oscars, I thought it was rather amusing for Lucas to do this after he blew the old hollywood guard for so many years.

I think that King Kong will win just as many oscars as any of the LotR films which is bad news for Revenge of the Sith.

But I do hope ROTS wins some of the technical achivement (Minus Visual Effects, I have a strong feeling that the Academy will pick King Kong or War Of The World than ROTS, Its a pity but true.) Keeping my finger cross for now, ROTS should win one of those, its the last Star Wars movie for godsake!
