DD, do you have those in hi-res? And I fully expect ROTS to be shut out of the Oscars, I thought it was rather amusing for Lucas to do this after he blew the old hollywood guard for so many years.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today announced the seven films in consideration for Achievement in Visual Effects for the 78th Academy Awards®.
The films are listed below in alphabetical order:
Batman Begins
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
King Kong
Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith
War of the Worlds
Well, after seeing all of these films...KING KONG will win.
The other nominees will be NARNIA for sure, because that was pretty dang seamless...and WAR OF THE WORLDS for being quite "other worldly" indeed.
HARRY POTTER and SITH are just more of the same stuff we saw in the other previous films in each series, albeit better than those previous. I think BATMAN BEGINS is too subtle for the nomination, unfortunately. CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY is nothing spectacular, I think.

Best Picture? LOL!
Best Director? LOL!
Best Actor Hayden Christensen? LMAO!! 😆
Best Supporting Actress Natalie Portman? ROFLMAO!!! 😆 😆
Best Original Screenplay George Lucas?!? PLEASE STOP, YOU'RE KILLING ME!!! 😆 😆 😆Come on, maybe it'll get nominated in some of the technical categories, but they've gotta be deluded to even put it up for consideration for the other categories...
This is conspicuous behavior for someone who visits Star Wars forums daily.
