Revenge of the Sith- Oscars? (Merged)

Started by Stun34 pages

As much as i love ROTS, there are no oscar winning performance's - not even Ian McDiarmid - although he did an awesome job.

"I HATE YOU!" - if Hayden put as much effort into every scene as he did with this line, he'd probably be considered.

as for special effects, i honestly think the Academy needs shooting if it doesnt win.

A big walking Ape - big deal

Ian and Ewan did very well.

Hayden did the best he could with what he was TOLD to do. It is well known that he wanted to play the character differently and stronger and Lucas wouldn't let him.

"Lucas is jealous, he's holding me back!" 😛

I wouldn't go so far as to say that. I think Lucas wanted people to feel sorry for Anakin and really UNDERSTAND why he chose to go to the Dark Side... that he really was a good guy. Sadly, I think he went a little too far in trying to prove his point.

Hey, you know who else has been mentioning starwars for oscar time?.....

Oh, wait, just us. 😄

Hey, I just read on theforce.net that the folks at lucasfilm really are pushing for some oscars!

They had a link to 12 different posters that say "for your consideration'

Most are for costumes and visual effects, but they also have one plugging Ian for best supporting actor and one for all catagories.

I can't upload... can someone post? 😕

Uhhh.... Shite!!!

Never mind. 😮 😮 😮

Let the whining commence...perhaps we need a merge with that academy thread...I've said my piece in there...and will uphold most of the academy's nominations...but you won't here me whine about SITH being over looked...I guess I can say, I told you so!

BEST MAKE-UP
The Chronicle of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Cinderella Man
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

that is it

Narnia getting nodded over ROTS?

What the hell?

Jesus Christ, am I the only one who found Narnia to be extremely cartoony? GOF and ROTS were better.

Narnia was good... Brings out the kid in all of us! ...

RotS good too, though.

From the TLB website under your sig:

STAR WARS - EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH is released in theatres Thursday, May 19th...I'll be at the midnight showing, and many more after that...for sure.

Yeah... you told us so.

What a fickle fan. Why not just remove the PT posters under your sig?

I don't mind a differing opinion, quite the contrary, actually.

But I can't stand people who claim to love StarWars, then talk condescendingly to "fanboys" about liking the new movies as well as the old.

Especially somebody like you, older, established in life (not trying to give you a BJ here) who should be above petty teasing of SW fans.

You like the PT, you know it just as well as I do.

Guess it makes you seem more refined, distingushed to call them crap, and look down your nose at them, but we know the truth.

After all, you post here more than in the OT thread.

Right? 😉

Oh, one more from your site:

Films: Star Wars…all of them

Hmm....whistling

F*ck off. My opinion of SITH has been on KMC since May...and all over this thread. This is not a surprise for me...but sure as sh*t people like you can't see past the fact that its STAR WARS.

I already said that it should'nt have won anything but technical awards.

If your opinion is that it's a cool movie, and your opinion has been here since may, then don't be a hippocrite and post sh*t like "let the whinning commence" "I told you so" and "the fanboys are gonna cry tonight". You're no better/worse than any of us dorks who enjoy StarWars.
You're a fanboy. You're a dork. You saw it at midnight, opening night. Accept it.

If your opinion was that Episode III (or any of the PT) sucked than you're still a hippocrite for posting on your site that you like them all.

I like starwars, but I'm no fanatic. I guess me pointing out the inconsistencies in your post's here and what you put on your home page makes me a "fanboy". 🙄

Hey Jackass...I never said it was a "Cool Movie".

If you want to call my a hypocrite...you can a.)Spell it right; b.)Get off your own high horse and stop talking down to the people that step to you...because your age certainly doesn't mean a damn thing here; c.) know the definition:

hypocrite
n : a person who professes beliefs and opinions that he does not hold

I ONLY profess the beliefs and opinions that I do, in fact, hold.

Then why say that you like starwars... all of them?

I usually like movies that I don't think are cool too.

And there are some pics of me and my Asain Mafia homey's in Queeq's(pgs 1294-1295), take a look at me and see if you want to "step"

uh oh there's gangsta's in the hood, I better watch out.

I responded to the 'LIKE' issue in the other thread. Let's stop it now.

I agreed with you in the other thread. 😉

I'M BACK!

To justify my reasons for defending the PT's visual effects last summer.

I hate seeing ILM looking inferior to other visual effects houses, knowing that they pretty much single-handedly commenced the digital revolution.

I'm here to acknowledge that I didn't actually consider Attack of the Clones to be a more visually-advanced feature than The Two Towers, and that the Oscar deserved to go to the latter.
