Official Doctor Who Thread

I'm watching "Terror Of The Autons" right now, and man is the Master a badass! I'm disgraced to say that I've only seen him in one old story arc, which was when he teamed up with the Daleks and the Ogrons, and he wasn't all that great there. In "Terror", though, his plan is on par with his plan in season 3 of the new series, if not even better.
"I just called to say goodbye, Doctor."
Flippin' awesome!

Delgado was boss
i love the sparring between him and Pertwee
its a shame we never saw the planned sacrifice to save the doctor and i look forward to his forthcoming action figure

That would've been really cool to see, and I'd love to see why he would do it.

So, what does everyone think as far as best and worst companions?

Rose now as worst because of series 4
it ruined the good work of the first two seasons in one scene
we just didnt need her and it became the "Rose show" again

fave companion
ill go for Jo Grant or Leela
Leela was comical and pretty hot and Jo was just a cutie
plus ive met them both and got a hug off them so that sways it

Rose was one of the best companions ever, not worst. She was an interesting and fun character, and was the perfect anchor to the Doctor's oddness.

And I really could not disagree more.

I never liked Billie piper in Dr. Who.

To this day my favorite modern companion has to have been Donna.

Ditto. Donna was the perfect anchor to the Doctor's oddness. Not Rose.

Meh, she was ok, but the best? No. Donna was annoying some times to the point that I couldn't stand her. Overall, though, she was alright.

The worst companion of all time, though, is unarguable: Melanie Bush. God, was she horrible. Nobody was as irritating, loud, and idiotic as her. Second to her is Adric, a parent's worst nightmare.

i dont mind Adric
compared to the kids you see on tv these days he aint that bad

im back off my hols today and im hoping the classic Who line hasnt sold out
i hear Colin Baker is popular and is selling out due to lack of figures produced
Colin Baker popular
dont see those words together much

Catherine Tate ran circles around Billie and Freema in the acting department. She was over the top in parts though due to the horrible script writing that called for it in 'so called' comedic moments...

Donna is definitely the best out of the new series, Billie comes second for me because Freema's acting wasn't much for my liking...

I loved Adric as a child. I was shocked when I found out fandom didn't like him.

I liked that he was petulant- gave the relationship with the Doctor some fizz. And there can have been few companions that had so little to live for other than the Dcotor.

Whoever told you that is wrong.

How does that make him a good, or better-than-others, companion? There may be worst kids, but that doesn't mean Adric isn't as annoying as hell.

The idea was good, but Adric was such a little brat.

Better acting? I'll give you that, but circles? No.

No. She was over the top when she was over the top. The script was fine.

Freema was pretty good. I liked her character a good bit.

I love how the Doctor seems to pick up the freakishly hot women nowadays. I mean, even his daughter was flat out gorgeous. But hey, I'm certainly not complaining. In fact, it's the opposite.

I enjoyed Martha during her season, but she was lacking in the latest appearances.

Donna takes the cake, as far as modern companions.

I couldn't tell you about the older ones, of course...

Ok, let's straighten this out...

In what way?

well im back in blighty now so ill see for myself
i heard he had one or no figure per case whereas the others have two or three

Adric on the other hand isnt as bad as the talking heads on the Earthshock doc make him out to be
and i too was shocked about the dislike of his character
i heard he used to be a bit of a *** in real life though

No. She was over the top when she was over the top. The script was fine.

No, the script and director calls for the over the top most of the time, even in the same scenes Tennant was awfully over the top. The script makes them go on and on in dialogue when it comes to comedic moments. Thoughtout the series there was a lot of moments where I would have cut certain dialogue out of the script, just terrible.
