Official Doctor Who Thread

Really interesting ending. I'd like to theorise who that girl is but sometimes I get the feeling that writers trawl these type of sites waiting for someone to give them a good idea.

Screw it.

She could be The Master's child.

Have I missed something, can't be River Song/Doctor's child then?

This episode was quite disappointing.

This series seems to be following the trend of 5 for me, 2 great episodes then a let down

The next ep looks interesting though

It was by no means a bad episode- just standard Doctor Who stuff.

I feel the look of the ship in the shot near the end might turn out to be significant as it matches the description Amy gave of a ship in the first episode.

Average reworked old storyline from else where with a couple of is she or not and who is that women.

Looks like the ood are going green eyed next week.

Tonight's episode was ok, I dunno if next week that whole 'another time lord' thing is that girl or not, could be Amy's kid considering she's pregnant one moment then suddenly she's not, dunno where they are going with that. I'm hoping they some how prevent the doctor's death which I think they probably will unless this is some kind of hint they are gonna end it which I doubt and if they did it would suck big time.

I can't decide if I liked that episode or not. It just felt like it drew too heavily from other sources and it was just...odd. I feel that it's going to be pretty damn forgettable, since the only memorable part of it was in the last five minutes or so - I've a feeling that in a few months I won't really remember anything about it.

Hmmm...The Siren took a DNA sample of the Doctor could this be the source of the new Time Lord? We know their DNA is important as thats why their burned the dead doctors body.

Meh, nothing memorable as predicted.

Of course. I just thought that would be too obvious. Nice teaser for next week. That, "You're not my mother" line intrigues me. If they re-introduce his family in some way, even if only briefly, that opens up a lot of possibilities. The Doctor has mentioned having a family in the past. And don't forget his "daughter" from a couple of years ago. TV writers tend to be cowards these days and I don't expect it to be something so definite, they'll explain it away with crazy science.

Neil Gaiman's coming episode promises to be a very big one. A lot of build up for it so far.

What about that lady who's appeared to Amy a, that wasn't in the last five minutes...but too be honest I'd forgotten about her from the last episode

Well that was very confusing....

but at the same time quite interesting. Nice to see the old Tardis again

Fansites are exploding over that one! It'#s getting enormous marks. Certainly a great episode for those into Doctor Who and its lore, but again I'm not sure how well it will ring with the casuals.

Also hearing a lot of people saying they cried at the end. I have no emotional connection with that sort of thing whatsoever- couldn't give a darn what happened to Idris- so that part was lost on me.

It might have been the best episode ever.

One to forget...

To much...Ahh forget it, can't be bothered.

saw the newest episode...much better then last week. Episode is definetly not what people predicted.

We get to see how big the Tardis really is and there is a lot of inside information on the doctor and the Tardis lives.

Excellent episode

I had high hopes for this one as it was Gaimen writing and I wasn't disappointed.

I liked this a lot. USH, I'm not sure why this would shake the "casual" viewer; if anything it seemed like an easing in point for all sorts of factoids: "The Doctor stole the TARDIS? Who knew?" and "Didn't the set look different last season?" are the first things that come to mind.

Also, I loved the bit right before we get the closeup of Rory's corpse. The writing on the walls fit right in with the bit in the Asylum in Ep II, and then we finally get to see Amy feeling bad about Rory, instead of the other way around.

Edit: I registered at Gallifrey Base a while ago, and I am confused about the concept of "casual viewer" in general. Who episodes are more self contained than many serials; why would any one episode be harder to follow than, say, Boston Legal was?

Edit II: This season has been great; Matt Smith has really grown into his role and the writing just keeps getting better.
