"The final days of the Ponds are coming," Moffat said. "I'm not telling you when or how, but that story is going to come to a heartbreaking end."
So is Amy or Rory going to die or both of them?
Well, holy cheese. Check it

Ah geez, another girl companion coming...
Ok, I get that the basic male/female dynamic is probably better for viewing figures but I do wish they'd change the pattern up by having a primary male companion some time.
Apparently it has been said the relationship will be different this time. We'll see.
Oh, no, that's absolutely fine!
So keep at it so I can ask you who your favourite Doctor is. The wrong answer brings death!
Variety is Doctor Who's strength. The premise is almost infinitely extendable, there are generally enough different types of episodes per season to keep a broad audience happy and so long as you have any interest in the concept at all, then after an episode you don;t like or even a run you don;t like there's always a strong chance of another golden one just around the corner.
That first (new) series is almost entirely earthbound, though.
Welcome, Backfire. Enjoy the show.

...we can't really be surprised or disappointed here. The same way we can't be upset at what will likely be a "young" Doctor from here on out. In 30 years, there will be a Doctor whose real-life age is 35, and they'll call it a return to the glory days of the 60's and 70's. It's just marketing.
I felt like Rory was throwing the "they can't all be females" thing a bone, honestly.
