Yeah; hoping it's good.

It's Peter Capaldi

Unlike Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi doesn't look like Rocky from Mask... so that's a step in the right direction.

Never watched Dr Who before but Peter Capaldi is a legend as Malcolm Tucker. The best Scottish character in tv history.

For those unfamiliar.

Wonder if they'll get him to speak without a Scottish accent like David Tennant

I cant wait to see him as the Doctor

Does anyone know if River Song is truly dead? I know she faded last season but I'm pretty sure she said the library was when they last met. Has Moffat ever actually said she's gone for good?

I think that comes under the purview of 'however Moffat wants it to be'. He left it open enough for it to go either way.

Thanks, that's what I thought.

Nah, she'll pop back up for Matts regeneration possibly.

YouTube video

I can't possibly say how excited I am.

Give it a shot anyway!

Paul McGann doing his 'Where's Waldo/Wally?' impression again, just as in Name of the Doctor.

Good stuff though.

The special effects in that trailer are pretty astounding, once you realize all the tricks they're pulling.

I'm supposed to have a party over Thanksgiving weekend for a bunch of Whuvians. Should be a good time, culminating in the watching of this (or re-watching for some of us, undoubtedly).

Holy mother off...

ANY Doctor Who fan, though particularly long-term ones or ones into its histoty, go see 'Night of the Doctor' (just been released on the BBC website- hopefully available internationally) ASAP before it gets spoiled. Like... wow...

A tactless coworker ruined it for me...the day it came out. I'm so hyper-aware of guarding spoilers from those who I guide through the show (several friends, ex-girlfriends, etc.) that it's immensely frustrating when people without filters for this stuff just blunder all over my fandom.

That said, it was still good times.

Now..I'm hiding in my apartment and not going on the internet all day Saturday, and won't be talking to anyone until I've seen the 50th.

Waiting till Monday so I can watch it with my girlfriend so we can geek out together

There are some theaters doing 3D showings of it this Monday. I may attend one just for the atmosphere of it. But I will have seen it already by that point. No way I try to go the entire weekend, and Monday, hoping to avoid spoilers.

My gf is now into DW as well. But she also just finished Season 3. Her ass can catch up, but I'm watching it without her.

Just to check- did you execute the co-worker?

I actually had to apologize to him, because I yelled at him and made him leave my office. It's one thing to joke about stuff on the internet, but quite another when you legit flip out over a TV show in a professional workplace. Just unfortunate all around. We're still bros, though, so it's good. No lasting harm.

Anyone tells me what happened in it and I'll shoot them in the head execution style
