For me it has to be DAVROS

One question I have, although they have mentioned regeneration, they have yet to mention a 13 time limit. Any chance Russel dumped the 13 time limit?

There seems to be a surprising amount of flexibility amongst fans about how true that is.

But it was repeatedly mentioned in the Classic series so I don't think it can be in doubt.

More likely he just doesn't think it is important. After all, the Master has been brought back to life with all his Regenerations, and two classic series plots revolved around the gaining of new regenerations, so the limit appears to be arbitrary anyway.

Good points all. thank you.

Good episode, didn't think it was a great episode, but still it was good.

Spoiler:
The master will be back, he better be back. If the Daleks can come back every goddamned season, then the master can come back. I think it'll be interesting to see if he's a woman this form - that would be fun to watch.

I enjoyed the episode a lot, but could have done without the awful cheesy musical singing near the start of the episode.

Is Martha not back for the next series then, was she just contracted for this series?

I believe she is jumping ship for the Christmas Special but will turn up in Series 4, maybe a little way in.

Jack's back off to Torchwood, which will kick off in January and will hopefully be better.

Episode was a bet 'meh', amusing though the power-drunk Master was. it wasn;t awful, but I feel very underwhelmed after the recent quality run of the season. And I cannot stand the continual use of reset buttons (i.e. where everything goes back to exactly where it was). It was, effectively, the same ending as last year.

Hopefully, yes, the Master will be back. Heck, even if they had made no reference to it at all, it's the damn Master. He's 'definitely' died in so many ways before. He's just a universal fact of life, he;s always able to come back.

My verdict on the season final not as good as last years but a close second. One thing I question is the Doctor in a bird cage, as if. Apart from that silly thing, on the whole a good story seeing the Master act like a fruit loop. Nice touch the Master refusing to regenerate one thing is for sure the Master is a great escape artist and I'm sure the Master will be back.

My verdict on series three is this, good start episode then a run of bland story's and the Dalek two parter was a let down but then it was all change with the Lazarus episode followed by two interesting story's the family of blood and blink. And finally the return of the Master, on the whole series three was good.

And finally how the hell did the Titanic crash though the Tardis? Well we will find out over Xmas.

Yup didn't you see the creature pic up his ring at the end? And the laughter? The Master is far from dead.

I wonder will Martha hook up with The Doctor again when the next season starts? And Jack as the Face of Bo doesn't totally fit because he can never die, so in the future he couldn't have died saving the people because even if he gave all that energy like he did to seal the rift, he would just come back to life.

But I loved the season finale! Best one to date. The reset button was necessary otherwise when ever The Doctor showed up in future episodes everyone would know him. I also find it interesting that. Time Lords can choose not to regenerate.

Excellent question. The TARDIS can repel gun fire from a Dalek Armada, but a boat can bust threw it?

Yes I did see it, thanks. It was hardly hidden. Though that was a woman's hand. I don't know what you are trying to say about females there by calling that a creature.

Saying that the reset was necessary because there was something written into the story that made it necessary is simply circular bloody logic. Write something that doesn't need a damn reset! It's getting extremely tired from overuse.

And it wasn't actually the TARDIS that repelled that firepower, it was the technical thingy they picked up a couple of episodes earlier, adapted to make a forcefield.

That said, the TARDIS is basically indestructible anyway. But it doesn't matter- it's not as if the TARDIS was in the Atlantic Ocean at the time. The boat did not just hit it. The whole point is simply that something very weird has happened.

Okay but do you agree with my point about Jack being the Face of Bo? And is there any news as to whether Freema has left the show?

And if the Master truly is a woman now, wouldn't it be great if he copied Rose's appearance? Billie Piper in an recent interview did say she would consider returning to the show to play a female Time Lord, she meant The Doctor, but wouldn't it be great if she returned as The Master?

Oh I certainly hope not.

The Jack/Face of Boe thing was just weird.

I very much hope the Master returns, too, even though I've not seen much of him outside of this past few episodes.

And Martha had damn well better come back as well, I think she's awesome.

Overall...yeah, was a bit underwhelmed by this episode. It wasn't bad, but it didn't live up to the last episodes leading up to it.

Err... why on Earth would you think the Master is a woman?

It was his wife picking the ring up.

Your assuming that, they never showed her face in that scene.

But they did very clearly show her hand, exactly as it had been in the story.

Even if it is not her and is just Miss Random, I still can't see the logical leap to say the Master is now female.

Well Russel has been talking for a while now about having a female time lord. It would make sense.

It really doesn't, actually.

Sexist much? You think there's no such thing as a female Time Lord?

And as I said the idea of having one has been brought up more then once by Russel himself.
