Well to be fair I never like TBG, so I could not care less if he returns or not, all I am saying is that if this is to be his last appearance, then something must happen to him.

Yes.

I see it is not set on the real Titanic but some floating space ship in space, I hope this will be better than the last two Xmas episodes. I see that DT will be writing next years Xmas one so if the story is poor we all know who's fault that will be. 😉

Any idea how many specials are we to see in 2009 as so far I have read two to six and no real statement on how many we shall see.

Well not long to go before the 2007 Xmas episode let's hope it's a good one as everything else over Xmas is BS.

The stated number is three, but the reaon for confusion is that people don't know if that includes the standard Christmas specials or not, either side.

Kylie's Date With a Dalek
Find out why Kylie's teaming up with a Dalek and see pics from her Doctor Who debut...

She's collaborated with the likes of Robbie Williams, Jason Donovan and Nick Cave but now Kylie's paired up with her unlikeliest partner yet - a Dalek!

Kylie posed with the Dalek for the cover of the latest edition of Doctor Who Magazine. Speaking about the photoshoot, she said: "I was in the presence of a legend. I've had to gracefully accept second billing, though.

"The Dalek was in great condition and bigger than I expected and at least I've met one now as there are none in the Christmas special."

Kylie is set to star, alongside current Doctor David Tennant, in the Christmas Day Doctor Who special (6.50pm, BBC1).

Voyage Of The Damned is set aboard the Titantic, last seen crashing into the TARDIS at the end of the series, and Kylie plays a waitress called Astrid in the adventure.

The singer told the magazine: "My first day on set was like stepping back in time. I really felt at home being back in the world of TV. I've definitely got the acting bug again."

Take a look at more great pics from the latest edition of Doctor Who magazine and from the Doctor Who Christmas special in our gallery...

From YAHOO News

Sorry Kylie that's been done already. 😉 🙄

Katy Manning in PentHouse.

Look at the other two daleks.

Tomorrow: Voyage of the Damned!

Er, that's a reflection, Neo. 😛

Rubbish
Derivative story(?)
Crap Soundtrack
Lame Cyborg = Homosexual referance
Worst looking /designed Doctor Who villain ever ....and thats some achievment
Annoying supporting cast.

Time for RTD to go.
You did will bringing him back but i think youve shot your last............ooh pardon!

For a Xmas episode I did not expect much as the last two were lame, once again another pile of dross was severed up on a cold plate this year which for the third year of Doctor Who this was very disappointing. The CGI in places looked so cheap and nasty it made the classic Who look far more Superior. Support cast was wasted on the biggest fault that of the dreadful and boring crass storyline, it dose not matter how well it was acted and all the rest as the backbone is the story and if that fails then all else fails.

I agree with vintageSW77, RTD must go now. He has run out of steam and fallen off the rail lines, I only hope DT who will be writing next's years Xmas story dose a better job of it we hope.

Hmm, frankly I disagree very strongly indeed. That was a good episode, and it has gone down rather well critically as well.

Storyline was absolutely 100% fine for a one-shot Christmas episode, and saying the effects made classic Who look superior is mere brainless hyperbole.

The coming soon trail wasnt as exiting as the last couple either
Maybe they are holding back on something.
No Rose either.
It would have created a nice pre season rush to see Rose at the end of the trail as opposed to the already seen Sontaran....maybe a hint of the series 4 big bad too wouldnt have gone amiss.
Whoever put the trail together doesnt know how to create a true coming soon buzz.
Catherine Tate i think will be just fine...after watching her xmas special i think she is a great actress be it comedy or otherwise.
Trust RTD to slip in a homosexual subtext with Banafalaka or whatever he was called....a bit too much of a Jar Jar style irritant who was only there to keep the kids away from their presents for an hour .
A bit grim with the main character deaths too i thought for the kiddies.
I much prefered the xmas pressie dvd of INVASION i watched this morning and the budget of that was practically nil compared to the wasted £ on yesterdays tripe.
The episode was a lame attempt at creating a Towering Inferno- Poseidon style disaster movie vibe.
We even got a Shelley Winters lard bucket type and the obligatory coward in there too.
If your going to be derivative why not scrap a new take on old disaster movies and have a big classic series monster mash up as it would have been far more entertaining for the long time fans AND the kids.
Kylie was forgettable...which was ironic considering the hype.
Poor Tennant
He was wasted.
Hes a great Doctor and the way kids have latched on to him and how he has made "their" other Doctor Ecclestone pretty much forgotten they have a task ahead of themselves when he decides to quit.
I just hope they dont take it as hard as i did when Pertwee left.
I cried buckets!

I've seen every episode. Love it.

Well, the BBC is going to want a heck of a lot mroe stuff like that Christmas episode. With viewing figures of 12.2 million it has become the most watched episode of new Who, and the most watched of Who full stop since the Baker days.

Critical reaction has also been positive. The Who train speeds ahead!

dunno
A hell of a lot of people who dont usually watch Who watched that episode because its an xmas day special on at prime time and because of the involvment of the overated miss Minogue.
So that means a large gay audience and shitloads of Mr n Mrs average totted up the figures.
If that means more of that tripe thats a shame as its no reflection on how the regular series works and who watches.

Yeah but that's all part of the point of a Christmas special, isn't it? There's no point comparing it to the liks of Human Nature. It's never going to be deep or intellectual, and it is always going to have a lightweight and accessible plot with all the one liners etc. It did that admirably and I found it pretty enjoyable to watch. Sometimes a dead simple "people trapped in danger" ploit is just fine.

And a success like this is good for Who in general.

I really did enjoy the Christmas episode, it was a bit obvious who the real villain was, but never the less it was a great one, better then last years Christmas doctor who.

bollocks 🙂

Please note I said.
The CGI in places looked so cheap and nasty

You could see that in some of the external shots how crap CGI was, just made me 😆

This is tosh, as I saw viewing figures for 6.1 million & 7.4 million, what I am saying is you can not trust viewing figures that are put out by anyone and that includes the BBC who have been caught in the act deceiving viewers over the years. Yes it was a prime slot for DW to be transmitted on but how many in your viewing figures liked it? Viewing figures do not tell us if the viewers were for or against and as I said, this whole area is a load of bunk in my view.

I know 12 people who saw it and 7 hated it, 3 liked it and the other 2 fell asleep before the ending resulting in a no score draw.
