I can't say I was impressed. There were a couple good lines, Donna was great as usual, but overall it was a lot of "meh."
I didn't even react to Jenny getting shot, either.
And is it just me, or was it really out of character for Martha to bawl over a fish man... drowning? Also sucked that they didn't even really do anything with her.

Yeah I thought Martha crying over that was way out of character too...I mean, when have we ever seen her cry? When Owen died, I think, but that's all.
She didn't even do anything in this episode, so what was the point of having her in? I mean, I love Martha, don't get me wrong, but I also don't like when the characters I like get wasted (part of my annoyance with Torchwood).
Indeed, Martha was useless in that episode. Not just in-story useless, in that all she did was get captured, increase the chances of war, get her friend killed and then play second fiddle to Donna in trying to sort out anything... but also just plot-useless in that the entire story could have gone by without her in it and it would not have changed a thing... so why have her in? She was even more redundant than Jack ended up being last year.
A waste- her return this season has been poor.
As I say, next week's episode is a comedy one. Hmmmmmm...
Yeah, and the final episode should be interesting. Supposedly, every major companion of the tenth doctor is going to be in it, which makes me wonder how they're going to give them all something to do. That was my problem with last year's finale. Captain Jack is an amazing character, and did all his stuff in Utopia, then he really just seemed to be hanging around in the final two episodes. I just hope this year's final episode doesn't fall into the same problem.
Still, next week looks good. Agatha Christie, murder, giant wasps. Then the week after we have Stephan Moffat's two parter, and his episodes haven't let me down in terms of enjoyment yet 😄
Is Sarah jane smith meant to return in this series as well?
Also i found this: "The Doctor's Daughter" has received mixed reviews. Martin Anderson of Den of Geek! stated that it was "rather good - though badly plot-holed". He noted that it was yet another episode of Doctor Who "undermined by Murray Gold's incessant music". He also described the episode as "quite redolent of Tom Baker-era Who, with plenty of dark and cheap corridors to run down and two under-manned warring factions for the Doctor to bring peace to". For SFX's Ian Berriman, the running up and down corridors was reminiscent of Lenny Henry's 1985 Doctor Who spoof featured on The Lenny Henry Show. Berriman described the episode as "underwhelming", citing that because one "always suspect(s) she's a redshirt" it is difficult to care for Jenny. Although "reasonably diverting", Berriman argues that budgetary constraints make "the story feel so enclosed" and that the episode's plot, likened to "old-school Trek", seems too similar to that of the Sontaran two-parter immediately prior to this adventure because both involve militarism and cloning. Newsround's Lizo Mzimba also notes the similarities with "The Sontaran Stratagem" and "The Poison Sky". Mzimba asserts that the episode's "biggest problem" is that it tries "to cram an enormous amount into 45 minutes" with most of the "interesting" and new ideas not getting "the attention they deserve" resulting in the audience not caring about either the human fighters or the Hath and thereby limiting a "sense of danger or menace".
Mzimba observes that since her return in "The Sontaran Stratagem", Martha shares little onscreen time with the Doctor therefore reducing the emotional impact of her departure in this episode. He describes Moffett as "superb", with Berriman calling her "cute as a button". Berriman praises Tennant's performance, but Anderson suggests that Tennant shouts too much. Anderson asserts that "Donna's role as the Doctor's conscience is beginning to take shape" describing this as "refreshing" in a companion and noting that "Tate has toned down the grating voice a tad".
think they hit the nail on the head there...
Yes, Liz Sladen is back.
And yes, Wasps and Agatha Christie next week, but the writer was told to do it as a comedy so I have no great hopes. Obviously, yes, then two episodes of Moffat, which look good (and 'The Forest of the Dead' is an intriguoing name for the second episode). The we have 'Midnight' which is a wild card, we dunno about that.
The make-or-break point for ther series, then, is Turn Left, which is the episode which has the most rumnour- no Doctor, alternate timelines possible, a link to the Racnoss (from Donna's first story), the return of Rose, and so on.
Last nights episode seemed to be a pilot for a THE DOCTORS DAUGHTER tv series.
RTD has his Angel like series in Torchwood and now it may appear well be getting his Buffy like series too.
I liked Georgina Moffat
a great actress and very easy on the eye...but again 45 mins isnt long enough to get involved in a story or care about the characters.
Im off to watch Tom Baker in the Invasion Of Time
i forgot if its any good so maybe i may change my mind about 45 mins being too short after 150 minuites of that.
Oh, yes, one other thing about last night's episode I forgot to mention...
When they were looking at the map, it suddenly hit me. Enclosed corridors, military training, cloning for when the current soldiers die, two obvious sides with their only purpose being to kill the other...
The entire setup was an FPS online game.
So no one know if Moffatt is back for another episode this series with the comment I left above?
And is it just me, or was it really out of character for Martha to bawl over a fish man... drowning? Also sucked that they didn't even really do anything with her.
Her acting was cringeworthy in that part when he went under.

Heh, you mentioned that on MSN I think.
Anyway, I'm looking foward to the week after this one coming up quite a lot. All of Stephan Moffat's episodes so far have been at the top of my list (not to mention he created Jack, who's my favorite character by a longshot), so there's basically no way it'll be anything BUT good.

Invasion of Time is rather meh- Douglas Adams, genius thouigh he is, goes all comedy nonsense about the Time Lords.
i got to episode 4/6 and fell asleep
this is happening quite a lot with old Who stories
ive been trying to get to the end of Keeper Of Trakken for a fortnight now and every time i fall asleep 10 mins into where i left off
same thing hapened with Warriors Of The Deep and The Two Doctors
im either knackered or some old Who stories are a bit of a drag
Baker was pretty entertaining in Invasion of Time including the bit where he talks to the camera
the story just dragged on forever
