That Sontaren armour was a bit shit though. They could at least have made it SLIGHTLY hard to shoot one. Or shown them... employing any tactics. Once the UNIT soldiers could fire back, the Sontarens looked a bit rubbish, which doesn't seem right.
Yeah, I definitely agree there. They went from being the militaristic alien force that was destroying the world to the militaristic alien force that slightly resembled stormtroopers by way of tactics...
Good to see that the Doctor mentioned the Rutans and all that. It establishes that the Sontaren-Rutan war is still going on there, as we were discussing.
Does anyone else find it odd that they're giving more build up to Rose returning than the discovery of the Doctor having a daughter? I thought that would be considered something major...

maybe shes not his actual daughter
there was an odd shot of his severed hand last week
maybe shes something to do with that but i hope not
I'm looking forward to seeing whats gonna happen with Rose. I'm hoping to see Davros return in the last episode, alot of the old villains have returned...all the famous ones except for Davros. As for the Doctors daughter, I am thinking that maybe the hand was used and she may be a clone...the doctor later found the hand at the end of the universe so it coulda been used before that to make a clone perhaps. But then again I heard in the original series that the Doctor did have a gran daughter so this chick next week could be his actual daughter, plus in the impossible planet I believe the doctor mentioned that he had kids but Rose (who was his assistant at the time) didn't ask about it so not much was explained, just that he had kids.
Afraid he didn;t find the hand at the end of the Universe- the hand was with Captain Jack who retreived it from the 21st century after 'The Christmas Invasion' and went with him to the end of time when Jack 'hitched a ride'.
Some sort of cloning does seem to be the big vibe, though in many ways it seems a shame to introduce such a huge thing and then have a cop-put explanation.
It was 'Fear Her' in which he said he had been a father once, though I'm not going to go get the full quote because that would involve watching the episode again.
(shudders)
He did have his 'Granddaughter' in the original series, yes, though the extent to which that was true is hard to say.

My memory of series 2 must be going...I'm surprised I still know what an emotional inhibitor is and what it does. I thought he did find the hand at the end of the universe, the master had it didn't he? In his lab

Hehe...wikiquote to the rescue!
All he said was "I was a dad once."

Yet Rani has yet to be confirmed as dead.
I think, at this point, it is better to assume that every Time Lord is dead except the Doctor unless it's explicitly shown otherwise.

Yes, he said they were ALL dead, not 'all dead except for that one I forgot to mention'. He thinks they are all dead and presumably he has good reason. In all honesty I do worry the next episode has the potential to be entirely awful.
You need to calm down a little, as for peach's suggestion maybe that will be the best thing to go with, I only brought Rani up because of the podcast that said it was the Rani that time.

Frankly, I agree. I mean, it was an enormous deal that the Master was still alive, and not just because he's the Master, but because he's a Time Lord.
If they half-ass the whole 'having a daughter' thing, it could come off badly.
