Official Doctor Who Thread

It has so many pitfalls. There's a real "Where do you go from there?" issue too, which is hard to resolve- either it is a reset switch, which has been greatly overused in Who, or you have to carry on with the 'Daughter out of nowhere' idea and... I dunno, I don't quite see that going anywhere greatly involving.

And yes, then you have all the fuss about how she has come about, which could be equally awful.

I'm partly wondering if it was made simply because the Fifth Doctor's daughter is in the acting business...

In any case, I don't see the 'Not really the Doctor's daughter' idea being pulled, at least.

I've been loving alot of the Doctor Who episodes...other than the one with Peter Kay, I thought that one was a bit rubbish...but the next episode looks kinda....bad 🙁

Oh that was just terrible, the one with Kay, ugh.

This episode could remind us of the McCoy years, i am anxious to see it, but also dreading the thought of it at the same time.

Well at least our hopes aren't high, meaning we won't be let down too badly.

I'm looking forward to more darleks returning and I have my fingers crossed for a davros return

I can't wait for the Daleks return, also to see Caan again will be nice.

Oh, I can wait for the Daleks to return. In my opinion they've been overused far too much since the series came back, if they had just one year without them I'd be happy. I know that people assosiate Doctor Who with the Daleks, but they've been in it nearly as much as the ninth doctor was in it. (Currently 7 episodes, likely 9 by the end of this series)

The daleks have been in every series bar one from the beginning of Dr. Who until now.

Do you mind if I point out that that is very much not so? None in seasons 6, 7, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24 and 26. In fact the last the the Daleks were in four straight series was in 1974. The Second, Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Doctors only met them once.

interesting, i just read somewhere once that they had appeared in every series bar one.

I read on wiki that there's a chance Davros is returning, I think he should considering he did create the darleks

Yes this is true, he appeared during the 4th doctors time...and it would be nice to see him amass a horde of new Daleks.

Ok, yeah, of the options presented above, the answer was 'The Doctor's Daughter' as rubbish.

Then a comedy episode next week... hmmm.

I liked the episode today, i think it was done rather well.

Both my sister and I found todays episode to be a disappointment, although my mum enjoyed it. My problems with it are that her being the doctor's "daughter" wasn't really what it was built up to be. Maybe that's my fault for expecting too much from it. The episode seemed quite predictable too, up until the ending, which didn't seem to make much sense. She healed herself? She regenerated with the same face?

In the end of the day, I have to agree with what others have said and that the episode was just made because she's Peter Davidson's daughter, and an actress.

I thought it was probably the weakest episode this series, didn't think much of it(with its Cube film like working out the serial numbers on the rooms...). Next weeks looks good though, with some rather good actresses in.

It looks like Jenny will be back for another episode this series because she was in the same script reading meeting as an actress who appears later in the series and wasn't in todays episode... or do they get different episodes together and work on it, bit messy.

Next weeks episode is the one with the giant bee's correct?

Yeah that episode was rather lame, I thought ermm Jenny 'dies' and I'm basically like "this reminds me of the Matrix...and she's wearing too much eyeliner". Just goes to show how interested I was...
