USH'S LORD OF THE RINGS GAME PART 3- The Tournament and the Traitor

All blissfully unaware! No-one was watching William. He didn't even tell you what he was doing.

Ellothiel fires, rolling a 56 which bumps to a 91. That is an 8A on an unarmoured target... but the wound goes nowhere. In the darkness, it was not a kill shot, and it grazes his shoulder.

He turns around to face you instead, whilst the struggle with William goes on! His attacker rolls a 10- no result.

Is that a long, short or composite bow, Ellothiel?

Oh geez, I don't remember, I don't know if I ever decided...composite bow, I think, about halfway between a shortbow and longbow in size.

Then it is -25 to your shot to fire without taking time to reload.

Eep. How long to reload?

Else it might be better to swap to sword...

One turn. Same amount of time it takes to drop your bow and switch to sword.

On the bright side, his shot went nowhere due to your intervention, though throwing axes need no reload.

So long as he's not advancing on me, I'll stick with the bow, I think.

May I use my Shield spell for some extra defense against this guy, or would it take too long to set that up right now, or is it something I'd be able to do while reloading and shooting?

Takes an action to cast- quick but not THAT quick.

Perhaps a yell of 'help' might also alert at least Talin...?

Talin has failed his perception roll and just had an axe thrown into him.

Anyone in chainmail armour has made themselves extremely obvious.

Oh, great.

Well, I'll leave the Shield idea for now. Ellothiel shall quickly reload her bow and shoot at her attacker again.

William carries a short bow, I think. Just for reference.

William will try to stab his attacker back, though he has no real hope of doing so.

Talin will respond by cursing loudly in Dwarvish and rounding on his attacker, deciding to leave the thrown axe where it landed.

How much damage did Talin take?

The attack on Talin rolled 89, +40 OB ,+40 for a rear suprise attack for 169, a maximum hit. That's a 25E

"Medium thigh wound. +6 hits. 1 hit per round. -10 to activity. Stunned two rounds."

The axe fell short from a kill shot, but it buries itself into your leg, leaving you no longer surprised but very vulnerable. Your perception roll to spot the attacker fails, though you know the general direction he must be in!

-

Ellothiel is quicker and fires first. 83 bumps to 103- an 11C. A hit to ther tendons of the lower leg, as your arrow passes straight through it, for 3 extra hits and leaving him stunned, therefore ruining his attack back at you this turn.

Nope, William hasn't a chance of hitting his opponent. Still, his opponent has not nailed him hit, hitting for another 3 hits.

-

Menelacar- your perception roll is passed. You see a man- who you did not see in the in a earlier, he must have arrived recently- go out into the back rooms without collecting a ticket first.

Nudge Anglomir - 'Let's follow him....'

Ellothiel will shoot her opponent again, hopefully taking him down so she can go 'rescue' the other two...

William keeps fending off the attacker as best he can.

Talin will growl in anguish, annoyed at having been caught offguard, and stumble in the direction of his attacker as best he can.

Rolling an 86, Ellothiel's next shot kills her target.

William's attacker rolls an 89. That gets William this time, for an 11B.

"Minor forearm wound. +4 hits; +2 hits per round. Stunned one round."

He's hit!

-

Another axe comes at Talin. He is no longer surprised or rear attacked, but he is stunned. But the attack rolls 24 and does just 3 damage to Talin this time, with not enough momentum to penetrate the thick layer of chain it hits.

Spotted him, Talin- from the alleyway closest to the way to the stables!

-

Menelacar- you go through, in time to see the door to the room the Prince is in closing. And the bouncers don't look too happy...

Does Ellothiel see what's going on with Talin at all?

And how much risk is there of hitting William if she shoots at his attacker?

"I say we follow," Anglomir says to Menelacar. "Something isn't right."
