USH'S LORD OF THE RINGS GAME PART 3- The Tournament and the Traitor

Frankly this place is relatively meaningless to you, Talin. They speak of this being the centre of the Kingdom's wealth but you cannot actually see even any gold around, let alone mithril.

(I'm not saying Dwarves have no concept of economy but they do pretty much base it around the 'look at my huge pile of treasure' model, and any accounting would be done adjacent to that money)

That being the case, Menelacar, as a man of good breeding you are in without any trouble. Now, this place is large and ancient and not entirely well kept (not ill-maintained, but just cryptic, as is the way with old stuff). So! What is being searched for?

Meanwhile, a cursory look at the records mostly confirms what you have already. Seinost pays the most tax, Annuneryn the least; Halatir seems to own a lot of land but doesn't pay anywhere near as much as Seinost, which means, presumably, he doesn't take in as much.

One thing you do notice, though. Annuneryn owes a lot of money to the treasury.

Well, I may be here for some time, but was hoping to look at the family backgrounds of Annuneryn, Seinost and Halatir for starters. See if anything out of the ordinary crops up.

Like trying to find a policeman, Lana- never one around when you need one. Still, city watch are bound to show up soon enough.

The dead man is well-dressed. A Dunadan, in fact- far from some street scum.

Menelacar- well, it's tricky just to find out things in general, though the easiest is, of course, that Seinost doesn't feature there much. His wife Gilvess on the other hand, that has a lot of history.

But there really is an information overload unless you had something in mind to look for.

Well, I'll start with Annuneryn's paternal history. Try to find out what all that Kin strifey tendencies was all about.

Well, there are no details. But you do at least have the answer to one question.

Annuneryn didn't inherit by death. His father was Degraded a few years back. He had his title stripped form him.

No idea why? Shame.

How about Seinost- is there anything at all on him; or is he simply a commoner made good?

Not a commoner by any means, but a noble from a minor family who married well.

Could we find where Annuneryn's father is now?

Elladil will look at the body more closely. What killed that guy?

On his son's estates most likely, Menelacar. Long journey.

Hard to tell on a cusrory examination, Elladil. Strange, though- his body is exceptionally cold.

Actually, where is the second cart that took part in the crash?

Strewn around the geneal area. It carried barrels.

"Why is dead body there, human? Is this not your cart?" -Asks Elladil.

"I already said! I didn't know anytthing about it!"

"So who filled the cart with the waste?"

"I did!"

"So why is there body buried there?"- Elladil shakes his head in confusion at the weird human behaviour.

"I don't know!"
