"Ah, I think I understand your meaning. He is a lover of the finer things in life? Wine, Women, perhaps the dice or cards?"

"That sort of thing, if you must spell it out."

"I meant no disrespect, of course. I had a cousin of a similar vein - dreadful business really. Took it too far. I mean, enjoying yourself is one thing, but when it starts to interfere with your professional duties, then its a different story. Still, Elendur I'm sure is too sensible to end up like that."

Ush, does Talin know about Annuneryn's planned marriage?

Well, that's putting it a bit far, but we can safely assume you have heard from Menelacar that the two of them are hanging out rather a lot.

-

"It has never been an easy posotion for my poor younger brother, in the shadow of his elder. But as I say- if anything, he enjoys himself more, so I have no worries. Come his time, he will do his duties well, I am sure."

"Oh, of course, I never doubt it!" replies Menelacar, "And what of you?do you find the duties of a princess enjoyable?"

Enjoyable enough! She's not actually been let out of the city since the Orc ambush of her convoy some two years ago.

"And what does a young princess do for entertainment?"

She gets precious little these days! She cannot even hunt. But then, there's virtually a war on; even the royal family has to make sacrifices.

"So, being new to Fornost, what can you tell me of the characters of court? I have briefly spoken to a few of the Lords on the council - Gorlim and Annphor seem nice people; I must admit I have found Annuneryn a little off with me. Almost seems to look down on me for whatever reason."

She is sure it would not be seemly of her to tattle tale about the Lords of the Realm!

You drew quite a response there.

Explain the response please Ush.

When you ventured possible criticism of Annuneryn, she didn't like it.

"Oh, I do not speak ill of his Lordship - please do not take it as such - it is more an observation of his response to me, is all. PErhaps he does not like those from Gondor."

"I find that very unlikely!"

"Then I hope I have not inadvertantly offended his lordship. Do you know him well? Perhaps you could advise me if I have caused offence."

"I doubt you have. He's very forgiving really. And eager to please."

I bet he is!

"You know him well?"

"Quite well..."

"Well, if you say I haven't offended him, then I will take your word for it m'lady. One more question before I depart - do you know a minor noble by the name of Erathran? I heard his name mentioned at the Tourney the other day."
