She thinks.

"I cannot... oh! My brother's dead friend. That's very sad."

"How did your brother know him?"

"They met at court, I think. Or maybe not, I don't know. He has many Dunedain friends. Does it matter?"

"No, not really, just curious. I wonder what it was that killed him."

"Don't we all? I am sure it will become clear sooner or later. It seems my brother has said that the investigation can wait until after the Tournament though; he sees the safety of the attending citizens as paramount and does not want to divert resources."

"Which brother is that? I would be concerned if there were Dunedain being murdered. The perpetrator could get away - or worse, strike again!"

"Elendur of course, it was his friend. And I hope you are not suggesting that he is somehow putting people at risk?"

"No, not him of course. I'm sure Erathran must have got into some trouble in an inn or something...Was he that sort of man?"

She says it's not the sort of thing she really knows about.

And now she has to go- she has duties to attend to.

Okay, distracted with things, let's get back to Robert...

"Have you heard about that Dunadain being murdered?" Talin asks, changing the subject.

He HAD heard about that, yes. Bit of a shock that one; friend of the Prince's being murdered and all.

"Why would anyone murder a friend of the Prince?" Talin asks. "Seems like a rash thing to do..."

"Wrong place at the wrong time, I reckon," he says.

"Thank you my lady, perchance I shall see you at the next event of the Tourney!"

Menelacar then heads back out!

So what've we got?

"No, that can't be it," Talin says. "He and the Prince were up to something. I have a friend that said she saw the Prince burn a letter that was found on Erathran's body."

Robert shrugs. "Something personal? Look, why would anyone conspire to murder him? You've got no reason. But his type... well, he did hang out in some disreputable areas. Maybe he just got into a fight."

"What kind of areas?" Talin asks.

"Oh, you know... 'certain' parts of town...."

"Be a wee bit more specific, my friend," Talin says, finishing off his drink in a few gulps and starting on another.
