Journal of Ajunta Pall
I am Ajunta Pall. This is my story.
Chapter One: Day of Acceptance
I remember the day I was accepted to the Jedi Academy. It is strange that I remember, but I do. I was twenty-nine months old when found by the Jedi who brought me back to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.
I was not believed by my teachers to be very strong in the force. I was at the time I was taken to the Temple weaker in the force than even the average Jedi. I was also not thought to have good combat potential. They looked at me and saw only a weak diplomat. That was not what I was destined to become, I would be great.
I was taken by the Jedi who found me before the Council. They found in me little anger or fear. They did not see hate. They did not see the darkside within me because at that time it was not there.
Ohhh, I remember it so clearly. Master Dorel asked many questions. Dorel was one of the council members, but he was on the lower half of it rank-wise. I remember Dorel having long hair that fell almost to his waist. He had dark brown eyes, and was a tall lean build. He was an Echani. He vouched for me to be taught.
The Council decided that I would be trained in the ways of the Jedi. The ways of the weak.
Chapter Two: My Early Training
I remember that it was not until the age of eighty-four months that I began real Jedi training. Before that, because they had seen only a weak diplomat before them when they looked upon me, they taught me to speak dozens of languages, I could write four of them, by fifty months.
By eighty months I could write sixteen languages and speak over two hundred. I also by eighty-four months could use the force to add extra persuasion to my arguments in a debate.
This training I hated. I knew that one day I would be a warrior. That one day these Jedi would no longer restrict me.
Chapter Three: My First Year of Real Training
When I turned eighty months of age, I began “real” training. I knew it would be far more helpful than the waste of time everything up to that point had been.
I was assigned by the Council to be taught by Master Ukan Opaak. It may only be because he was my mentor for a time that he seems as great as he was in my eyes, but I am sure he was powerful. I heard stories about him before I became his padawan. One was about when he killed two powerful Dark Jedi by himself and saved the lives of several thousand people who would have otherwise been killed by the force storms the Dark Jedi were creating.
Ukan was a human. He was tall. A head higher than most of the Jedi.
The first thing that he taught me was how to use telekinesis. We focused on this for a few weeks and by the end of the third I would levitate over a hundred pounds for a few minutes.
We then began to look at ways to affect the minds of others. I had already learned many of the basics of this and was by the end of the second week able to make a person see in the corner of their eye things that weren’t really there.
For the rest of my first year my master showed me many force techniques such as ways to absorb energy, suppress pain, extend my hearing, enhance my sense of smell, and increase my vision. By the end of my first year, based on my age, I was able to see four times as far as an average person, hear twice as well, smells twice as well, absorb the energy in a small power cell, and withstand the pain from small abrasions easily. I know now that I was making good process, but at the time I felt that I was lacking, that I would never become a great Jedi.
Chapter Four: My Ninth Year of Training, Part One, Trouble with Terrorist
I began my ninth year of training when near the time of my sixteenth birthday. I have broken it into several parts, all of them part of my ninth year. I, in the chapter before this described many of my capabilities in the force. By this time I was twenty times as powerful as then, but I was still weakened by the lightside of the force. I could hold hundreds of pounds in the air for over thirty minutes without overly straining myself. I was able to absorb great deals of energy and if I was meditating, I could see what would happen hours from now.
By now the Council was beginning to requesting their initial belief that I had little potential in the force and that I would never be able to become a Guardian. I had by this time learned much of Form One. I was the best in my class with a lightsaber and could cause my master to break a sweat when we sparred.
I have many reasons for choosing this year to write about. One is it is the year I was in my first major conflict.
There were two nations on this one planet and both wanted control. The Council sent my master and myself to this planet to resolve this situation.
It was an outer rim planet and it took of several days to get there.
We arrived on Agrenew late at night and landed in the west nation. The nations were actually called east and west because there was only one continent on Agrenew and the border between the two nations went north to south across the continent and the people just felt it was an easy way to name themselves.
Only a few minutes after we arrived on Agrenew my master left to go monitor peace negotiations between the two countries. I was supposed to help the security forces find a terrorist cell somewhere in the north part of the eastern country.
I got there quickly and had little trouble tracking the terrorist down. The entire process took only a few days. I then went to confront the terrorist.
I arrived at the terrorist headquarters at about two in the afternoon local time. As soon as I got there I knew something wasn’t right about the place, but I knew that I had to stop these terrorist actions.
The person at the front desk told me to remove my lightsaber and told me to directly precede to the meeting area. I used a mind trick and made him think that I had removed my lightsaber and that I left with the guards. I would go to the meeting area, but first I was going to do some exploring. I had some time.
I found a long corridor that strangely had no doors on either side. It then expanded into circular room with a single door. On the door was a sign warning people not to enter. I was going to walk away, but the force guided me to open the door. I knew it was necessary. It was the will of the force.
The door had a heavy lock that I estimate would have been able to resist a few blaster bolts. I knew it would be no problem for my lightsaber though. I looked behind me to make sure no one was watching. Good, the coast was clear.
I ignited my lightsaber, but when it touched the door, it couldn’t cut it. I tried again. Once more, it was unable to cut it. I stared at the lock in disbelief for a second, then tried again. Still, it was resistant to my lightsaber.
I then attempted to stab my lightsaber through the door. It could not penetrate it. Only little amount of the door, as small as pebbles fell off. I thought about continuing to attempt to cut it again, but it would take to long and I was running out of time.
Disappointed, I returned to the meeting room. Still, there was something strange going on behind that door.
I went to the main meeting room of the building and was told that the people I was here to negotiate with would be along shortly. When they asked why I had taken so long to get there I told them that I had been held up by security at the front desk.
I was sitting in there meditating when poison poured into the room but I was immune to it because of my Jedi training. They obviously didn’t know my power. I left the room quickly through a hole I cut in the wall.
I entered a large room on the opposite side of where I had entered the meeting place. I was about forty feet from one of the corners of the room. A door opened somewhere to my left. Dozens of terrorist poured through it with blasters in hand. I was surprised by the discipline they demonstrated. One of them yelled for me to drop my lightsaber and put my hands in the air or I would be killed. I told them I would do no such thing. I let them know that I didn’t want to kill them, but that I would if necessary. I knew I would be fine, I was a warrior of the light.
One of the terrorist yelled, “You...you, a single Jedi is threatening us? I laugh at you pathetic attempt to save yourself.”
I spoke back in a cool voice, “I do not want to kill you. I will give you two choices. The first, you let me leave un-harassed. The second, you die. It’s your call.”
The person who had talked before spoke again, “You are a fool to act as if you are in control.”
The then raised their blasters and began to fire.
“Then death is your choice.”
I easily blocked everyone of their blaster blots, at first directing them into the walls leaving time for whoever would flee time to leave. After about twenty seconds, I began to reflect the blaster bolts back at them. They began to drop to the floor.
I then charged at them, still blocking their fire. Several began to run, but I was to fast. A third of them where dead in less than half a minute. This was taking to long though. I needed to report back to my master as fast as possible.
I gave in further to the force and let it show me what to do next. I closed my eyes for a second and when I opened them, I saw it.
There was a power converter hanging above the terrorist. I began to direct the blaster fire into the supports holding it up. It fell shortly afterwards. It fell to the ground hard.
At first when it hit the ground nothing happened. We all just stopped and stared at it for a moment and then, bam! It exploded in a huge fireball. The flames sucked the air out of the room and the sonic boom from the pressure change deafened everyone for a minute.
Well, it deafened me for a minute, it deafened the terrorist who attacked me for an eternity.
