I just watched one of the most unusual game Ive ever seen.

England were leading 1:0, took their main striker off, Holland score in the last minute with an amazing overhead kick. England has about 5 limping players, and one goes off injured no more subs possible, and go into extra time. Then its like Ice hockey with Holland playing around one goal.

It goes to penalty's, one of England´s limping players limps to scores a penalty. After 32 penalty´s Holland win 13:12 and go into the final.

What an odd game, anyone else watch it?

Yeah It was insane.. I thought it was going to go on all night.

Thats what is great about penalty shoot outs though, people moan about them not being fare and whatever.. but they are so entertaining for the fans.

I was under the impression that after the whole team had taken a penalty the ref tosses a coin to decide the winner. Obviously wrong🙂

I had to leave the room near the 28´th penalty, it was doing my head in.

And that isn't even the world record.. the most pens take was 44.. when Racing Club lost to Argentinos by.. get this.. 20-19..

I was amazed at how infrequently Carson guessed the right way... even by the law of averages he should've guessed right more often.

Carson dived to early, most of the Dutch takers just waited for him to dive and passed the ball in the other corner, or straight on. If he would have waited a tick longer the shooter comes under pressure.

Mind you I wouldn´t have liked to have been in any of their shoes

Serbia in the final of Under 21, i hope we win, but we always do poorly against Holland.

If Serbia win it's a disgrace... they shouldn't be in the competition after the display by their racist fans and players.

Serbia have been playing well so far, against England they were already through so maybe they didn´t push that hard. Good tournament teams don´t, but save energy🙂

Didn´t know their fans were being naughty, were they having a crack at the black players or what.

The more I think of it, the more I'm convinced Arsenal can do well without Henry.

In all honesty, I'd have left too. He repeatedly stated he was committed and fans kept on at him asking him to choose, when he alone had not suggested a move. I'd want to leave after all that bs.

As an Arsenal fan, I think Henry deserves nothing but well wishes at the new club. Any real Arsenal fan would say the same.

I don't know, it can't be a coincidence Arsenal's poorest season for a while occured during a long period of Henry absence. I was one of the few (it seems) who thought Arsenal missed Van Persie just as much this season, but even with him back it remains to be seen whether he can carry the frontline on his own.

They'll struggle if that happens. He won't leave at the end of the season, though. He has always left his contract renewals until they need to be renewed. Slightly outrageous idea, but there you go.

They definitely missed RvP as much.

I think it is a coincidence mostly, though obviously the loss of Henry was a contributory factor.

They had sold previously Campbell, Lauren, Cole (3/4 the defence), Pires- who always got 10-15 goals a season, and Bergkamp. They replaced them with players who had to settle in, and in some cases suffered injuries (Rosicky, Gallas). Bergkamp wasn't replaced at all. They started in a new stadium, which shouldn't really affect the football, but it does; the same as home results tend to be better than away ones.

They also had a weird season in front of goal. Many games were complete domination, followed by either poor finishing or just bad luck (posts, bars, keepers on fire).

Given all that, they still finished on the same points as Liverpool, whose season was over bar the CL (as a result of Arsenal knocking them out of both domestic cups) fairly early.

Funny how many Spurs fans think Henry was the only thing making Arsenal better than Tottenham, though.

Berbatov scored 12 league goals. Van Persie scored 11, and he was injured from January onwards. Berbatov got many goals in the UEFA Cup against teams of postmen and farmers.

Man Utd's attack is Rooney and Saha.
