with the 16 million i would definetly consider buying a proven striker. perhaps a battling midfield player and also a central defender.
They need a winger. They've got good depth in centre midfield.
Centre-back isn't too bad as well, but a right-back would be handy. Though a centre-back might work just as well due to Gallas' versatility.
Obviously they need another striker now too. Babel seems a good option as he plays wide and up front. Huntelaar maybe.

I dunno, Man United didn't have one last year. Gilberto performs a shielding role for Brazil, so it's obviously not essential to have a crazy Gattuso/Keane style nutter.

Denilson is one to watch out for next year, whenever I saw him he was basically MoM, and he was in his debut season, aged 19, from South America. He can do everything.
For all the talk of youngsters, he has recently brought in Rosicky and Gallas.
I reckon he'll buy players with some experience, but still young enough that he can bring them into his system.
gilberto is ok but not as aggressive as some. qne they lack a lampard type of player in the middle. man united have scholes, chelsea have lampard, liverpool have gerrard. someone who can score 15 -20 goals a season. i cant see that happening with fabregas.
also i hope he doesnt go for anelka...jeez..what a backwards step

Fabregas is a playmaker, not a bulldozer like the other ones you mentioned (aside from Scholes, who he's very similar to actually, apart from he makes fewer tackles..but then, Scholes is a horrible, horrible tackler). And at 19 he's already potentially the best of his position and style in the Premiership, and I have every confidence he will mature into one of the best in the world very soon. The amount of chances he has and will continue to create for Arsenal make up for his lack of goals. But who knows, maybe he'll improve in that area too. The kid can certainly shoot, he just needs to learn to be a bit more selfish when in good positions every once in a while.

I like the idea of Sagna, for cover across the back, but also to allow Eboue to play right wing if needed.
Malouda I think is a bit too old. He's not getting any better, and he'd be no more than a squad player. Not 'super, super class'.

But he is a free agent now and we defiantly need another striker and i don't know about Huntelaar, he is unproven on the big stage, but if he is the next Van Nistelroy, then definitely a must buy.
How about Quresma then, he is 23 i think, he can score goals, which was one of the biggest weakness for Arsenal last season(scoring goals from the midfield), great technique, dribbling, pace...

It's a rip-off in my opinion. He's never been prolific, so I don't really see how he justifies the price. They already have strikers that get 10-15 a season.
There have been some interesting striker buys though.
Pizzaro, Eduardo, Bent, and now Torres.
While I do rate Bent, I'm not sure it was a priority buy considering some of the deficiencies elsewhere in the Spurs team. Jol does tend to do such things, though.

i have a feeling torres will do well. 25 million aint bad for a 23 year old with such talent. its ferguson has taken the bigger risk in nani and anderson. both unproven really. benitez just needs a top class winger now and they can challenge for the title.
teves would be a strange buy for fergiebecause he is too much like rooney. they need a prolific striker. owen would be the more sane choice.

Well, we've also signed Bale and Kaboul, so all we need now is a left winger. Then, we'd have one of the top 4 squads in the Premiership. Our defence would now be as good as any outside of Chelsea and Man Utd, our midfield is top 4, and our forwards are top 3. So...Basically, it's gonna be a top 4 finish for us next season.
