wow no posts over the champions league and uefa cup midweek games?? whats going on.
I am just this minute back from Madrid where I travelled to watch the Mighty Aberdeen take on the huge name of Althetico Madrid. Madrid won 2 - 0 but it was a great atmosphere inside the stadium.
I had to ask a spanish guy in the street to buy me a ticket for the Madrid end of the stadium as the Aberdeen end was full. I will post some photos later on today.
HOWEVER, walking to the stadium was crazy shit, I wasnt wearing colours but when we turned the corner to see the stadium FULL BLOWN RIOT was hapening between spanish police (in riot gear) and Aberdeen fans. Aberdeen fans are not violent and were only trying to chase away spanish thugs who broke into a botttle bank and throwing bottles and flares at us.
I got home to read in the papers that 10 year olds were being beatten by spanish police and the photos of bloody aberdeen fans were shocking. 4 undercover scottish police officers were there and were also thrown to the ground by Spanish Police for no reason. "Animals" was the term to discribe the Police...
Since I was in the madrid end I got to leave straight after the final whistle, so when I returned to the Hotel and sat at the Bar, It was unbelievable watching the Aberdeen fans return all bloodied and battered and bruises. Shocking.
Yeah I totally agree, for some reason Spanish teams leak goals like no ones business.
I was watching a Real game in the pub, REAL was dominating but they were lucky to escape with sa 4-3 victory....it was the spanish league but the other team were bottom half.
I think they go all out in attack and dont care about defence.
They have also got Ramos as well, he is worth £20m+ as well.
Why? They're sitting comfortably in fourth, as one of the big four, whilst Arsenal descend into mediocrity thanks to Henry's departure.
At least that's what was supposed to happen.

Speaking of which, Phat, where do you watch the games? I'm gonna be in Canada for a month beginning on the 8th, and I would like some means of keeping up, at least.

Yea it does a bit. But a lot of Spurs fans needed a reality check anyway, we'll recover this season, we've just been having some extremely bad luck.
Larsson will never score a goal like that again, Young has never scored like that ever etc etc... I'm not making excuses, some of our performances (especially defending) have been woeful.
yeah Can't believe Birmingham won over Spurs at the Lane...
Yeah yeah you can say it's down to the Manager but it was only 1 game, he didnt have that much time to get to know the squad let alone encourage them to play for him and only him.
ah well.
Celtic Milan tonight...I think Milan will win 2-1 but Celtic will still come 2nd in the group due to Benfica defeating Shaktar

The funny thing is, I said to the person I was watching it with, just before the end, 'Birmingham haven't scored a wonder goal yet so they'll probably win'. Lo and behold, about a minute later it happened.
I have to wonder though, there's only so much 'bad luck' a team can have. There has to be a reason all these long range shots are going in.

Could be Robinsons weight problems and inability to get off the ground and poor central midfield pressuring.
No team in the league had that many chances against Birmingham, we had something like 23 goal attempts, they had 4... 3 on target... 3 goals, one off the crossbar.
Im not sugarcoating anything, we've been terrible, but there are still enough signs for me that when we have a full defence to choose from, we can turn these near misses into wins.
