Crouch signing won't, and better not, happen.
Gomes is a good signing.
Spurs have done it sly, because their tactic is "If we keep saying we are credibly in the running to achieve great signings, people will subconsciously start thinking of us as a big club.". Apparantly some fools have bought it.
Still, Gomes is good. Robinson on his way out then.
Although, nothing Spurs can say will match the idiocy of Jamie Carragher, who predicted Torres and Ronaldo to be top scorers. He then said this:
"Jamie Carragher has hailed Liverpool team-mate Fernando Torres as the best striker in the world following his exploits at Euro 2008.
Torres has helped Spain reach the final of the competition with some impressive showings in Austria and Switzerland.
The former Atletico Madrid ace has carried on where he left off at Liverpool last season after scoring an impressive 33 goals in his debut season at Anfield.
Carragher is a big fan of Torres and insists he would not swap the Spaniard for anyone in the world.
'He has a great partnership with Villa they look really sharp the two of them and Fernando has took his form from Liverpool into the national team.' Carragher told Sky Sports News.".
How has he?

Hmmm, I wonder what's better: For players to be attracted to the promise of great things, or players apparently wanting to jump ship because they see a club is sinking?
Still, if Hleb and Adebayor do go, I hope Arsenal can attract players of the calibre of Downing and Crouch...
What "players"?
Flamini left because he's supported A.C. Milan all his life, plus money. Adebayor has made no secret that money and notoriety are priorities for him (If he even does leave, which I don't understand, because the notoriety that Milan and Barca are after him and no other striker should be notoriety enough), Hleb is the only one whose departure I would be baffled by if it happened. Those aren't people jumping ship because a club is "sinking", and Arsenal are far from sinking. They finished third, not too far behind the only two teams in front of them, in a season they were favourites to win until they were marred by injury and bad refereeing decisions.
Nasri will be coming in his place, so I'm not entirely bothered.
Besides, Dos Santos has left Barca cos he can't get in the team. Gomes coming to Spurs baffles me because he only just saw his current club whoop them out of the UEFA Cup, and Modric, who looked decidedly mediocre by the end of the tournament anyway.

What do you "mean"? Flamini left, and it looks likely that Hleb and Adebayor will leave too, so I guess they are the "players". If you're talking about the "players" Spurs have signed, well, Modric, Dos Santos, and Gomes certainly qualify very nicely, thank you.
PS. They said the Titanic looked pretty sturdy, too.
These are not players who have left because Arsenal are sinking.
Flamini, as I said, left for a team he has supported all his life, plus money (Who finished below Arsenal in their respective leagues, and got undeniably outplayed in both legs of the C.L. tie). Adebayor is tied to Milan and Barca because he's the best striker in the world (Otherwise we both know they would go for whoever's better. They're not chasing Drogba, Berbatov or Torres with such rabid intent), and has made no mistake that money and fame are important to him. Hleb is the only one that baffles me, but if Nasri lives up to expectations, I won't really mind.
I'll miss Hleb, but you move on.

I woulnd´t expect Arsenal to sink just because a few players are leaving, Wenger is to experienced to let the ship sink, he likes to bring in young players and it woulnd´t surprise me if he brought in some young talent.
I can´t see them buying crouch though, he doesn´t fit into their way of playing at all.
Arsenal have Theo Walcott who could become the best striker in the Premier league, the lad ouzes with talent and pace.
He's not worrying me.
Most of this bs is the press. As VVD said, he can't possibly dispel any transfer worries because the press just start up the rumours again. They're never satisfied, they need shit to talk about.
I maintain the belief that they are part of the reason Henry left. He said time and time again that he was staying, the press kept insisting he might go.
