I don't really see why saying in the press that he's made an offer is any worse than...making an offer. Unless it's because Spurs wanted to pretend Utd weren't interested in the hope Berbatov would think he had no chance of leaving.
He said he'd made an offer (that wasn't accepted), and then went on to name the player, state that he thinks he'll arrive in time for the new season, and says what a good addition he'd be to the club.
The fact that Man Utd want to buy Berbatov isn't the big deal; it's the fact that Ferguson had such a tantrum about Real Madrid talking about wanting to sign Ronaldo - to the point of reporting the case to Fifa/UEFA/Whatever - but then does exactly the same thing about a player they want to buy.
Well, you can't speak to or approach a player without a club's permission. So I guess it seems like an indirect 'approach'. BS really, as it always comes out in the papers anyway.
It's just that he's been recently moaning about it, so it makes him seem foolish. I guess he is thinking if they have to put up with it then they might as well blatantly do it.
I think Ramos must have plans for Huddlestone in the DM position, otherwise I don't understand why we haven't got anyone in to fill it.
I can't see a midfield of Dos Santos, Jenas, Modric, Bentley working, especially as we'd have Bale and Hutton down the flanks, too. Although, if he's planning on only playing one up-front, then maybe it could work.
Oh I think with thier European nations Cup winning super striker, who showed how to score in important games, and was the leagues second best goalscorer, if they played better they´d run away with the title🙂
I´d like to see some other team doing well and comming amongst the top four for a change, Spurs have the potential if thier new team meshes well imo.

Don't be scared. You won't come last, that spot is reserved for either Deano or AC.
