I don't mind them buying up the epl games (which was generally what Sky monopolised), it's clearly highest bidder wins. But England games cater to such a large percentage of the english public that it's unfair, imo, to ask people to pay a subscription to see the games, especially when they were demanding high prices for highlights as well.

Obviously i'm not the most die-hard of England fans and can quite happily miss the World Cup qualifiers, but I can understand the furor surrounding how few people were able to watch the games... 750,000 and 1,250,000 iirc, compared to the 7-8m average when it was on itv.

setanta has almost exclusive rights in canada, it has the games that the normal stations used to have plus a bunch of cl games.

the other channels just get 1 a week now and its usually fulham v west ham. exclusive rights to all the good games plus a shitload of rugby and a jose mourinho puppet. 15 dollars a month.

any predictions for the man united liverpool match? i think united would win anyways but the fact that liverpool are without both gerrard and torres pretty much decides it for me.

Hahaha. Always that same game.

I've actually got a weird feeling. Gerrard and Torres are shit versus Man Utd anyway. I can see a possible Liverpool win, and I'd never really think that generally.

More likely a draw.

Of course, Liverpool will probably just fall over as usual.

**** them. If they want it, pay for it. I have to pay the licence fee for a shit channel I never watch.

Both Gerrard and Torres are fit...

I think it's about time LFC beat Man Utd, so we'll probably lose 8-0 or something...

Ah, both mature and extremely witty, AC.

I'm not enjoying this match, already...

****ing van der sar has looked shit in this match, what is he doing going in there half assed like that? you either go for it or you dont dipshit, that better not cost us this game.

wow, the only way liverpool win, an own goal and a tap in. figures. probably win the league now.

I was joking, Kovac.

Man Utd lost their third league game last year, Phat. Liverpool were undefeated in their first...five? I wouldn't worry.

It wasn't like they played well enough to win, they played well enough to draw. It was a mistake that got them their win, and this was an uncharacteristically good performance from Liverpool, given their current form.

-AC

i know, its just hard to take.

walcotts playing well, nice little run and ball for the goal.

F*cking have that, Blackburn, you mugs.

-AC

battle of the billionaires.. man city to be the next chelsea?

abramovich v abu dhabi group

ridiculous money v even more ridiculous money

i wonder what the team sheets for this fixture'll look like next year.

It's actually becoming irrelevant, that's what people forget.

Admittedly it's shit in the sense that it stifles other teams' ability to acquire talent, but Chelsea have always been rich since Abram took over, they haven't exactly done great recently. Almost finished behind Arsenal last year.

-AC

it wasnt irrelevant when chelsea won the title and retained it thanks to a good coach and a bag of money.

true that money doesnt equal wins or championships, theres lots of examples of that. but it can go a ways to helping your chances as long as you balance your team.

Liverpool beat Man u for a change, cool.

Adabayor is rocking, not cool🙂

Robinho scored in his opening game in the battle of the Billionaires, dunno how cool that is.

other than the goal which was more the crap wall than the free kick itself, hes played pretty badly.

but hey, he does stepovers.

I wonder if you realise the comedy of that comment.

-AC

what?

no all intended i assure you, they are dazzling his stepovers.

Just reminds me of a Man Utd player.

-AC

dont remind me.

i dont care how many goals you score or how much gels in your hair, flicking your legs around like a spastic looks stupid and isnt fooling anyone.

Told you I had a weird feeling about Liverpool.
