France are just crap since Zidane stopped playing, and spreading his magic.

Can´t see them qualifying unless something drastic changes

Who's in their group, other than Austria? Then again, that hardly matters, as Scotland nearly beat them to Euro 2008...

They are playing Serbia next I think, Romania are also a good team so it won´t be that easy. here the other teams in their group

France, Romania, Serbia, Lithuania, Austria, Faroe Islands.

I noticed the Aussies are taking the Asian route this time, I didn´t realize
they could just change. I suppose it´ll be easier for them than playing the S. American teams.

Australia, China PR, Iraq, Qatar

so yeh. england murdered croatia. happy days

Setanta are a bunch of c*nts. Rooney MOTM? Bullshit.

You can tell how badly being around foreigners has ruined and stifled Walcott's potential.

Let's hope this puts the argument to rest, once and for all.

I don´t think his potential comes only from being arround foreigners, although Henry might have had a big influence judging by the way he plays.

This sort of talent your born with.

It was there for everyone to see in his games for the U21, for those who bother following it.

From what I heard on 5 Live, Rooney had a hand in a couple of the goals and, of course, scored himself. Sure, Walcott scored a hat-trick, but it sounds like Rooney did damn well, too.

Setanta don't actually like Arsenal, though.

"Too many times players get made out to be the saviour of England," said Rooney.

Maybe he's just bitter that Walcott legitimately does have the talent, Rooney is already over his peak.

Of course Rooney has legitimate talent. He just seems unaware of how to best channel that talent into helping the team's game.

Walcott's finishing was excellent, but Rooney played really well in the 2nd half. I think he set up 2 goals and scored. His control for Walcott's 3rd was Zidane-esque.

rooney played really well i agree.

if you took walcotts goals away he didnt really do a lot else. couple of jinking runs here and there caused croatia problems. his striking/finishing ability outshone his wingplay which is why i would like to see him upfront with rooney.

I think what Rooney may be pointing out is that team effort is important as apposed to individual performances.

The way the media single out single players as some sort of super hero´s who´ll win the world cup is pathetic, as Spain showed teamwork is more important and if you can interweave individual talent into that your on a winner.

Not taking anything away from Walcott, that sort of finishing is rare, most players welly the ball wide or somet.

What is this "Setanta" thing anyway?

If you took Walcott's goals away it was 1-1.

A channel for which you have to pay obscene amounts of money. It recently bought rights to show England games. I'm afraid I don't know much about it, as I'm not willing to pay such inflated sums for a few football matches every year.

Setanta bought up a load of EPL matches and the England away games, so noone likes them.

They don't have rights to major tournaments, do they, though? If the World Cup and Euros aren't on BBC (or even ITV), then I'm afraid I'll struggle to give a shit about the national team, and favour club football all the more.

yea sorry, i meant the world cup qualifier away games... hardly a big deal, but England matches should always be on terrestrial tv imo.

Arguable. Personally I'm not fussed, but the thing that I do find annoying is that the reason they broke Sky's 'monopoly' (IE winning the bid) was to make things fairer for the consumer. Now you just have to pay for two lots of subscriptions to see the same thing. Excellent move.

setanta has almost exclusive rights in canada, it has the games that the normal stations used to have plus a bunch of cl games.

the other channels just get 1 a week now and its usually fulham v west ham. exclusive rights to all the good games plus a shitload of rugby and a jose mourinho puppet. 15 dollars a month.

any predictions for the man united liverpool match? i think united would win anyways but the fact that liverpool are without both gerrard and torres pretty much decides it for me.
