Not as much as everyone would claim.

A result comes after 90 minutes, for all of those 90 people are focused on the football.

Abramovitch has had massive success, but it is at the point where winning just isn't good enough for him, he wants beautiful football.

id rather be a fan of a good footballing team like arsenal than a successful team that plays like liverpool or even chelsea.

Exactly.

That's why trophies are like record sales. They prove success, not necessarily quality. If you're content with just being the most successful, then fine.

i just hope we sell ronaldo next summer, hes such a twatt. why does he have to be so important to the team? i cant stand him.

imo i think he will go this summer

i think he'll go as well, i was sure he was gone this past summer but fergie had to go and put his foot down.

You were lubing the man up last season.

-AC

that was before he came out with all that garbage in the summer. a few days after the cl final man, what the ****.

you know theres some players that have played for your team that you probably wouldnt like if they didnt play for you but you tolerate because they're scoring every week or playing really well or whatever.

i hope i never said i liked him as a player anyways because i dont, our system just brings out the best in him. there was a time a few years ago when he was cutting diving out of his game, he wasnt so arrogant and he was actually taking players on and putting balls in the box. but ill be happy to see him go now even if we dont win anything without him.

To be honest, I don't think he's that great. It's a bit like Klitschko is the best heavyweight at the moment despite his being not really all that.

He's a really prolific scorer over the course of a season. It's mainly consistency and determination, in my view. That's what separates him from similarly or more highly skilled players.

I don't in all honesty ever expect him to do something beyond belief, like Messi, Ronaldinho, Zlatan, even RvP. I know that's not why he has been (probably rightly) voted #1, but that's my point.

To be fair Phat, people change their minds, it's fine.

You did consistently try to say he was the world's greatest player, and did say at numerous points that you'd take him over Messi.

last season he was the best, ill stand by that. he wasnt the best dribbler, but he put in the best individual performances consistently over the course of the season and deserved the award because no one else came close to having the same impact he had.

there was an under the surface dislike that i suppressed last season because i had the goals to distract me. with what happened in the summer i dont care how well he plays, hes still a twatt.

I´d take Messi over anyone at the moment.

Wow did you´s see liverpool come back from 2:0 down, Gerrard the lion does it again scoring 2, and its only half time.

Arsenal drew 1:1 against Boro.

Messi was much better than Ronaldo last season.

He didn't have any impact against big teams, his goals came against nobodies, mostly.

Notice how Liverpool went 2-0 down to Hull City at home in the opening 20 minutes. Can't keep doing that and expect to be regarded as being worthy contenders.

Like I said, though, they've had maybe two or three good games all season. Football wise.

-AC

Why are they 2-0 down against Hull at home anyway?

That's the thing with Gerrard now, if he didn't do anything for the next 3 years, people would say he's done it again when he does.

okay i really dont want to debate ronaldo v messi anymore. ronaldo scored against big teams in big games last year.

you know youd think jiffing two tap ins to draw level with hull at home was a bad thing.

"Jiffing" is now associated with Liverpool.

Excellent.

Where does everyone think Owen will go to, looks like he´ll be leaving the TOON

great point for us at anfield

owen could go to any of the mid table teams pushing for the uefa cup but i dont see anyone wanting him higher than that. maybe benitez'll go for him, he likes himself a mediocre player.

aston villa moved into 4th spot today. do arsenal and villa play again this season?

id have owen in any team.

and ronaldo was the best player last season. messi shud take it this season
