You say that after Man U beat Chelsea 3-1 earlier today.

You also forgot Spurs, they came 4th last season and they still have class players like King, Dawson, Defoe etc.

man city wont gel together to produce a top 3 finish

i predict

man united or chelsea to finish first

3rd arsenal
4th man city
5th liverpool

Spurs ahead of Arsenal.

Liverpool are making top 4 again this year... They have the best manager in the league now.

Top 4:
Chelsea
Liverpool
Man Utd
Man City..

Arsenal
Spurs

Oh wait... Scrap that. Newcastle top of the league. (Joke... joke...)

Pre Season one off game won´t make difference in the league where quality in depth counts. Spurs did well last season, but I don´t think they will this season, although I noticed Robbie keane is back, he could make a big difference.

I decided to look at the England thing and gave my take.

.................................1.Shilton
2.Neville.....5.Ferdinand.....6.Adams.....3.A.Cole
.............................4.Hargreaves
7.Beckham..8.Gascoine..10.Rooney...11.Barnes
.............................9.Shearer

mexico wooping spain right meow

if you consider a 1:1 a wooping🙂

Damn Ive lost interest in England, didn´t even bother watching the game. The world cup put my football interest on a downer.

This is skill🙂

Spain didn't equalise until late in the extra time though. Haven't seen the match so I wouldn't know who actually was better though.

I think other countries will be finding a key strategy to Spains minimalistic "hold ball and score a goal" tactic before the next major tournament, and they will go back to being normal.

I honestly think that if the Dutch had played like they did in the first three matches of EURO 2008, they would have won the final. I think that particular strategy is the key to beating a team like Spain, 4 attackers rather than 1, and Engelaar in stead of De Jong so that the ball actually circulates around the pitch.

Of course such a strategy could totally backfire when not executed right, but with the right players you could give Spain a whooping.

I hope not. I find the Spanish vein of football to be dull. Too much holding the ball, dominating the possession. I like it when a game is end to end.

I agree, even though England got beaten 4:1 by Germany it was an end to end game, if England had scored in a couple of chances they had (including the "ghost goal"😉 it may have been even more exciting.

Germany vs England was certainly more exciting than Germany vs Spain.

I really don't get why everyone wanks over clubs Barcelona and Arsenal, granted they have some of the more talented players on the market but their brand of football isn't beautiful... It's mundane... And there is nothing more satisfying (all be it boring) then a really well drilled defence simply not letting them through. (See Inter Milan vs Barcelona in the recent Champions League.)

I agree, if they were to add a bit of tempo to their game and try and score more often it would make it more attractive. Everyone talks about "technical ability" ok, they can pass and hold the ball. But everyone likes to see a Ronaldo (the real one) sort of player rip defenses apart with pacey attacks. He had REAL skill, skill with pace is way more difficult than skill in passing the about like in box work in training.

Any thoughts on Premier League opening weekend? Had a bet with a friend who said Blackpool wouldn't win a game all season, then convinced him to go double or nothing on them winning their first game. Guess I'll use his money to watch the Liverpool game tomorrow!

Happy for Blackpool, would love to see it last. They play an exciting brand of football.

As far as I'm concerned the premier league doesn't start until Monday though.... Come on the toon.

Joe Cole got of to a good start then for Liverpool, getting sent off🙂
