Any thoughts on Premier League opening weekend? Had a bet with a friend who said Blackpool wouldn't win a game all season, then convinced him to go double or nothing on them winning their first game. Guess I'll use his money to watch the Liverpool game tomorrow!
Don't worry Spooony, Newcastle might be the second today though.

If only Andy Caroll executed that header perfectly, it would've been a huge uproar! For the fans, for him, for the number 9 shirt...would've been best goal of the opening fixtures, hell best goal of the year probably.
Best goal of the weekend goes to Wolves, their free kick. (can't remember who took it.)

Little bit gutted about ARSEnal snatching a draw in the way they did, but I'd have taken a draw even with eleven men especially as I had a 1-1 bet at the bookies, that's 2 bets won on the opening weekend! All my luck will go for the rest of the season now. Double gutted!

5 way? I can count 4; Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City and Spurs... Who's the 5th? Villa? Because I really don't see them with a shot.
I'm a Liverpol fan but don't rule out Everton just cos they lost to Blackburn, they have a good squad and David Moyes always keeps about 10 million back to buy someone in the last week of the transfer window, they may not have the strength in depth of some of the others but they have a great team spirit, far more than Arsenal or Man City. I agree, Villa don't have a shot.

We looked a lot better than Arsenal so I don't see them maintaining a title challenge. I think the five way battle for 3rd and 4th places will be the most entertaining this season.
Nasri out for a month and Frimpong out for the season. ****ing injuries.
Originally posted by RocasAtollArsenal always dominate possession.. .That's what they do.
What are you talking about? Arsenal dominated the first half. It wasn't until Wilshere did his best Silvestre impression that Liverpool woke up, and that lasted for 15 minutes. After that, Arsenal dominated possession again and it was a matter of time before something was going to happen.Nasri out for a month and Frimpong out for the season. ****ing injuries.
Arsenal didn't have a shot though, Liverpool were by far the better side. Reina's fumble is the only reason Arsenal equalised.
Originally posted by RocasAtoll... and about 15 of those shots were speculative. They simply didn't break down the 10 man Liverpool.
So Rosicky's shot that was only barely tipped over the bar wasn't a shot? And you do know Arsenal had 17 shots while Liverpool had 8? I don't know what game you were watching. Liverpool looked dangerous for 15 minutes. Not before that or after.
Liverpool may have only looked dangerous for a short period... but their short period was a lot longer than Arsenal's. .. by about 14 mins if we use your times.
You find me one match report that says that Arsenal were dominant.

I agree with Spoony, Liverpool were the better side as evident when they went forward.Arsenal, if it wasn't for that fumble they wouldn't have scored.
However, watching that game, it might be because of no Joe Cole, but Liverpool should have probably scored a few more.
arsenal will still end above lpool at the end of the season though.
