Valência vs Marseille 😘
Man boring game! Only action was in the middle and even that wasnt that good. well it have a few moves and shots on goal. Very few thou. Was Bartez (sp) stupid or what?! They can thank him for losing!
Valência didnt seem very happy when the game was over! 😑 What's up with that?! they win the UEFA cup and dont celebrate! Makes a person feel like taking it away! "If you dont appreciate it then leave it!"

Didn't even watch it. I had guessed that Marseille lost 2-0 before I came home to check.
I told you the only 2 things that could make Marseille win were Barthez and Drogba. The first made a huge mistake and the second didn't play very well.
Kes, the UEFA Cup has only some value for the "smaller" championships. In England or Spain it is worth nothing.

I'm going to see France-Brazil tonight !!! 💃

Nah! Valencia won easily without any stress. As was the game, were the celebrations.

Barthez was unhappy as usual in decisive matches. It remembers me Vitor Baia. A very good gk but sometimes with lack of confidence and unsure of his capabilities. Bad luck for OM.

Nah, its not for smaller championships. Maybe smaller teams. Still important thou. They do get to play against CL winner.
And its not like Valencia is a big team, sure they won the Spanish championship but I say that was a fluke. Or lucky year.

Came on they got the penalty when Marseille was growing and getting more dangerous. Ruined the game too.
Plus you win you celebrate. Regardless of the competition. It is still a competition and they fought to reach the end.

- France is a smaller championship.

-So...tonight I went to the Stade de France. We were 79,344 spectators 😱 The game was neither very good, nor very bad. Some good moments though. France 0-0 Brazil.

-As a matter of fact the UEFA Cup (formerly called C3) is really worth nothing, for it has become a cup for "less-good-than-the-best-teams" clubs, with the 4th or 5th of the big championships, and, of course, many teams eliminated from the CL. It's total nonsense.
Where is the C2 gone ? *sad*

Nah again 🙂 . The old C2 had always been more easier to win than the C3. Sometimes it was usual to see very weak teams who won their national Cup without any international skills.
Many of the teams playing in Uefa Cup are Top teams from Spain, Italy, England and Germany. And eliminated teams from CL help Uefa Cup to be a strong Cup.

Kes: Yes. The penalty (Barthez) ruined the game and OM chances to win.
But did you see how Porto played half of the time with 10 players against Benfica?

Well losing a player can 2 things. Make a team stronger or make it weaker. 🙄 It tends to make it weaker and that was the case with Marseille 😖

Agree

My point is just that the UEFA Cup has basicallly no point at all 🙄. It's perfectly normal that the C2 used to be easier to win, for it was a real Cup. Now the C3 is just an under-C1 competition...

Marseille just couldn't win with 10 players...Especially when you see their GK (Jérémy Gavanon ,21) 🙄

I don't like the idea that for ie, it wasn't until very recently that if you became second in belgium you had to go to the UEFA.
But what with Spain? if you become fifth you can still go to the CL.

So, it has nothing to do with being a champion in your league, you can still do awfully bad (5th is not good for a top team) but still go there while ie, this year, Brugge got lucky to get the second spot after having 16 wins (+1draw) in the return legs!

sure, teams in spain are better than those in smaller countries, but how do you want to change it ... ever? cause the rich teams keep getting money and the small teams can see their european run as perfect when they can survive the winter in the european leagues!

Well there you go, with the UEFA cup your country can win points to have more teams in the UEFA cup and CL.
So the UEFA cup is important 😆

In Portugal the 6th goes to the UEFA cup.
We have Benfica and Porto in the CL. And then the next 4 teams go to the UEFA cup. All this because the 2 teams that went to the National cup were already in CL.

If Porto wins the CL its possible that in 2 years the 2 first teams get direct access to CL.

We Won!!!!
3-0
United Rules !!!!!

if you can't win from millwall... 🙄

Millwall played relly dirty. Did you see Dennis Wise pushing and grabbing hold of Scholes all of the time. It was so blatent, he should have been sent off straight away. 😠
