lol, I honestly can't think of a JLA member besides Green Arrow, Plasticman, or Batman who can't fly, doesn't have superspeed, or doesn't have superhuman strength.

Silver Surfer is currently a Defender. There's a spell that forces them to unite whenever the universe is threatened.

Marvels bread and butter is characters you can relate too. Yeah, they've got super powers, but they're still human at heart. They arn't overloaded with super powers for the most part. They maintain their human side and ties. It's more soapy in a sense.

DC's bread and butter is literal super heroes. Ultra-powerful heroes us regular folk could never really dream of relating too.

The only char of DC that I can think of that reminds me even a little bit of a Marvel char is Blue Beetle; and (Countdown spoiler) he had his face blown off. But we all know the next Blue Beetle will have super powers.

Which do I prefer? Marvel. I don't like reading DC but I respect other people's right to enjoy it.

When was the last time the old Defenders actually got together?

Earlier this year in "The Order."

Ahh...who were all the members again? Silver Surfer, Doctor Strange, I want to say Hulk but i'm not sure...and some one else right?

to be fair, I think he'd require at least 3 minutes if he wants to take down Galactus.

Seriously, There is no way Silver Surfer could react fast enough to avoid any batarangs.

Batman will just use a Death Touch on everyone else.

does Zatanna really make a difference? I pretty much think JLA takes it unless Jean/Phoenix is on the x-team, but shes dead.

Or someone like Scarlet Witch, but shes not an x-man.

Does she make a difference? Se saves the others from even breaking a sweat. One spell is all it takes.
