Muhammad Ali or Bruce Lee?

Bruce Lee would totally win. He's the man. He's the martial of, like, every form of martial arts in the world, and he was in those badass Brisk iced tea commercials. Muhammad wouldn't stand a chance.

with all the reasons evryone has been giving in this thread, the Ice Tea commercial one makes me somewhat on the line between crying and laughing... 😕

pure fandom. At least ali excepted the inoki challenge. The truth is,lee declined many challenges because he was too busy making moives

Is that why Gene Label tapped him out in sparring several times?
the truth is.lee didn't even train in most forms of fighting.
I read one of his books of fighting and bjj wasn't even in it!

this match isnt going to last any longer just because of ali's name. The fact is that all ali is, is a boxer. His endurance may help him with some pain. How would ali defend against grapples and locks? you have to be properly trained to know how to get out of locks and grapples without hurting yourself. Bruce Lee knew the human body aswell as a top physician. He knew which areas to attack. This isnt just Bruce Lee, but any martial artist that devotes their entire life to the philosophy. Bruce's base stance was the mantis, the Mantis is a stance from gung fu which is dedicated to blocking punches and counters.

Lee wasn't a grappler.I'ves studied his grappling and it was totaly beginner stuff. The medicore fighter knows more than bruce did on the ground.

ali's technique is to beat someone into submission. Bruce lee's is to resolve the matter as quickly as possible. Bruce thought a fight did not need to last longer than a minute. Infact after he fought the Chinese representitive of Kung fu, which was a fight that lasted a little over two minutes he began to train even harder and study more often.

Is that why I say he was winded and wore out after that match.
look at some of my links buddy

one punch from either of them could finish each other off

bruce lee can also kick..and use is other techniques

A misinterpertaiton.
even lee admitted he didn't have any knockout power.Put him in the ring with a REAL fighter and his ass is stomped

im sorry, i dont even want to argue about this anymore with you people...

if you truly believe that Lee would beat Ali in a fight, then fine go ahead, but please dont try to argue it...because, quite simply, u are wrong...

i dont know what else to say because the people who believe that Ali would lose have no idea about any aspects of fighting for real, im sorry, you dont...

martial arts is, in practice, a complete crap shoot, it is pretty much worthless....i know, i do martial arts...

but whatever, you can never change anyones minds anyways...people always believe what they want...even if they dont know what their talking about, its unfortunate...

the point of tournaments is to show discipline and a place to refine skill. If you have watched tournaments they usually last a little while because you have two people studying the same art, most times the two people are on or around the same skill level, that is why they seem to last a long time sometimes, but usually they are very short. The essence of nearly every form of martial arts is self discipline and to resort to fighting only as a last resort.

tournements of the same style mean nothing.only mixed styles realy matter.

true.People watch a few movies and think lee is the shit! 😂 😂

true.People watch a few movies and think lee is the shit!

whats sad is thats the real truth....

people have been fed all this crap about Bruce Lee being like some kind of super fighting god...and its complete BS...

Lee in actuality was nothing, even in the world of martial arts...

the only thing he did was create an art (no small feat) but he was not amazing at actually fighting, and even if he was he still could not beat ANY boxer, especially heavyweight boxers who are trained, for a very long time to inflict as much damage to an opponent as humanly possible within a time period...

to be honest, if Lee actually did try to fight Ali, the fight would be over in 30 seconds, but if this were to actually happen, u can pretty much be sure Lee would run....

you know why? because martial artist know that thier arts are worthless when someone really wants to take your head off, and now hes fighting a person who's job is to basically kill people...

Lee himself is not an idiot, he would never accept this challenge, because hes not an idiot...

he himself would know he would lose...so this fight would never happen even if it still could..

EDIT:

last line should say:

"Lee himself is not an idiot, he would never accept this challenge, because hes not an idiot..."

He didn't except it!
I know it's sad.People can no longer distinguish real life from movies.
put them in the octagon and let them try lee's techiniques.they don't work.I know, cause i've watched jeet kune do fail miserbly

its not so much that they cant decipher real life from movies, they just dont know fighting...

and the "world" sees martial arts as the greatest of the fighting techniques, but really it isnt...

people, most people, just dont understand that...

but u are right, it does relate back to movies...martial arts look good choreographed, and all that...people just assume that martial arts are amazing...

and they are, for discipline and focus and all that, but not for actually fighting..

erirgt!
right!
i'm druknk man.!@
and agree.these people are fools.ali takes lee and that is truth

YOU GUYS ARE SO RIGHT

Boxing and Muay Thai striking techniques are the only strikes worth shit. Otherwise grappling techniques are very effective. Kung Sockey, TKD and even strong forms of Karate lose to them, its a fact.
No Masters on the hill!!!!!!!!!

Entertainment has given people a false interpetation of REAL fighting.Hell, even with ufc and pride fighting out their people still don't see it.You want to know why?Because people don't want to except what fighters do in ufc and pride is real. They want all the mysterious mystic teachings that come with the martial arts.People want to belive in secret teaching with one hit kills and all the good stuff. The reality is much different though.Martial arts are art forms. Most have no real world fighting equivelent.

He must be tough!!!!!!!!!!!

🙄 But whats that got to do with a great world champion v a physically small actor who does the splits well!!!!!!!!!

😕

It is so funny and you are so right

I mean things like iron shirt take time and you can't do whilst fighting, they are hilarious 🙂

dont mean to be rude but I addressed that to AdventChild who quoted me cause i quoted Kosta saying that the fight should/would end quickly.

I have seen tournamnts live and watched them on the telly. 🙂

have you every been in a tournament?! It takes as much mental strength as well as physical... Mentally i think bruce has it which leads me to say he would win.....Tournaments are sooo much fun.... aggrivating though when you don't win.... but yea it takes alot of concentration....
