Muhammad Ali or Bruce Lee?

yeah but martial arts gets laughed at because of the dojo's all depends on how you are trained you have to spar to be a good fighter. This whole punch kick the air thing is garbage when I did martial arts I sparred alot and I was shown how to fight in a better way to protect myself I learned some new moves and then I fought with some people I was better than or people way better than me. My cousin is 5"5 and a black belt in kung Fu and he was hired as a bouncer for a strip club it all really depends on how you are trained but that karate kid crap doesnt work 😄

Interesting physics breakdown there Whirly...
Good point about Karate punching too....
I've sparred with and fought a few Karate guys of varying degrees of abilty myself, and the fact that they are taught to punch with one hand while the other returns to the hip/side and their sweeping block system are two factors which have ensured my wins or dominations in sparring...

It is a system that can't cope very well with two fisted flurries of different punches... I found it real easy to nip in there with the left hook over the lowered right hand and the right cross over the lowered left...
And the left hook from the orthodox postion comes nicely out of the field of view of the opponent...so they dont get time to react until they've been plugged a lot of the time... even the simple jab does the business cirlcle your opponent and be amused as they struggle to comprehend why you actually aren't leaving your arm there to be grabbed/manipulated...

And thats when combos involving hooks, uppercuts, bodyshots and crosses from different hands/angles exposes them.... 'cause by the time they have blocked in the formal way that they seem to, they've been hit 3 more times from 3 different angles... and when you are being banged by those varying combos, you are in trouble from the first landed punch if you are both out on your feet AND you can't defend well against these attacks to begin with..

When I used martial arts I was tought to always keep my gaurd up and to stay on my toes like a boxer I was also showed to fight from like a side view where I could protect my stomach and the good stuff I was also shown the whole bring your fist back thing but I didnt bring it to my I brought it back like a boxer it really depends on how you are instruceted as styles are different but alot of martial arts out there is garbage and with boxing it definetly helps street fighting thats why this whole I know karate gets a bad rep because it really depends on who is yout rainer

Have you ever seen a street fight?

Been in a few and seen a few have you 😎

Of course

You know boxing helps in a street fight because you cant just go at them they will knock you out thats why they are deadly and you got to be careful when you go at it with guys that can throw punches

Or you can use a pipe

yeah true but in a one on one fight with no weapons around you got to stay on your toes fighting a striker

True

most street fights go to the ground. here, bruce would have a great advantage.

there aren't any belts in Kung fu....any way karate can be very useful in a street fight.. as far as fighting a MMA karate is pretty much vain... i've seen my share of fights when TKD(tae kwon do) even kicks ass in a street fight as far as mma i'm it doesn't work...so as far as fighting goes..ali have been in more fights thus making him more experienced....

It wouldn't get to the ground and very small men have problems applying locks against much much bigger men 🙂

Yup...Again a likely win for Ali....

...give me proof and a site linking to your resource.....cause i know there aren't any belts in Kung fu..Prove me wrong....and it depends on every martial art how you are trained.....any one can throw a punch but to throw a punch with speed accuracy power and skill is another thing....most street fight just throw punches at random....

Punching the air isnt gonna get you anywhere I said that it depends on the way you are trained sparring will give you a better chance than just punching the air you need practice to become a fighter you may be well skilled but a street fighter knows how to fight not everybody just throws punches at random
