So we can't use the Force, then? It's capable of killing people and opening doors and all sorts of cool stuff, but it can't even disable a simple camera?
And let's not forget, Lana, that if it wasn't for me, you'd most likely be leaving a liability (read: employee/witness) who would definitely cause trouble later on! We need absolutely zero attention up to the point we nab the generator, and that's what I'm good for. That and stealing.
Okay, I'm sorry, DDB, but several people are probably gonna notice a giant crate floating through the air. And that still leaves the problem of getting outside the building with the crate, without paying for it.
It's not just pride for my own plan; I seriously think that's it's simply the best paln we have at the moment. I'm all for a better one, but nothing else has been suggested.
Mind tricks = last resort. Don't want to have to rely on that if it isn't necessary. For one thing, only a handful of us can even do mind tricks. Only mind trick Rianna knows is Distract which is good for increasing my Intrusion score...and that's it. Plus what if there's a lot of people around? Can't trick them all. And it doesn't always work on everyone.
However, if we get disguises and pretend that we work there, Rianna and Dak could just walk out the front door with the stuff and not even be questioned.
Blunt and to the point. I like.
Dark, seriously though, and I've said this before....stop just disregarding everything we say. We know what we're doing. Okay? We're Dark Jedi. We're criminals and on the run and we have to keep a low profile if we want to stay alive while we're in the Republic! Running around using Force powers and killing/beating up whomever we please isn't going to help anything, it'll just make matters worse.
So yeah, please keep those things in mind.
If you wanted to kill people randomly, you should have been playing three years ago. 😉
Just to punctuate what Lana said, if we go around levitating boxes and so on, the Osokans will come for us, our ships with be confiscated and transponder locked meaning they can track them everywhere they go, and we will be a known threat to the Republic (again) before we're ready.
If we can't find spare employee tags, that's most likely what we would have to do. My only problem with that is that it creates a witness who has to come to eventually, or could be found while still incapacitated.
If we can find a way to make it work, however, that makes disabling the camera alot less likely to be investigated. It's possible that we could even retrieve the crate while our service volunteer "works" on the camera, making the process faster and more efficient.
So if we go that way, here's what I think the plan would be:
Dak and Rianna slip into the employee area and snag two (maybe three) uniforms/vests-and-nametags/whatever. One of those needs to be the uniform for service workers/janitors. If we're forced to take uniforms from somebody, we do it quick and hide/ dispose of the body (But this is a last resort and should be avoided, as it leaves evidence.)
Then we head back. Someone who has the skills to tamper with security systems puts on the service uniform, and acquires whatever means are necessary to get to the troublesome camera. Their cover story is that they are doing a routine check on the security cameras.
They disable the camera, and while it's out whoever took the other uniform(s) get a lifter, take the crate, and drive it out. Their cover story is simply that they are making a delivery.
After the lifter is gone, our service worker reactivates the camera and gets back down. From there they can either ditch the uniform or simply walk out to meet with the others.
An extra security measure may be to have everyone else who's not involved in the operation leave through the customer exit, while those involved will be able to go out other exits.
So, sound like a complete and well-developed plan? Or can anyone think of anything to add or change?
The more people that are nicking stuff, the faster the nicking will get done. The faster we're done, the less likely we are to be caught. As Dak and Rianna are the only ones with really reliable intrusion scores, they're the ones that get tagged for such undercover things.
Melkor, I really don't see a need for high social skills or mind affects. We're trying to keep from using the Force unless we have to, and I get the feeling that deliveries aren't quite odd enough to warrant much suspicion or questions, especially with so large an item as our crate. I had thought that since Dak and Rianna got the uniforms, they could put them on inside the employee area, so they wouldn't look out of the ordinary. And obviously, whoever was wearing a uniform would have to be the person operating the lifter.
Main thing to remember: We don't act suspicious, we won't be suspicious.
