A very QGJ solution...

I had been thinking more Luke Skywalker. Just goes to show!

Jedi-like solutions?! msn-oh

Quick, someone murder something!

Let's see how you do, Takuan...don't squander away my ship!

I agree with the ship solution.

And Dominator sounds better than Dominatrix, Dexx. Gallador the Ruthless Dominator, I like it.

So, what is the plan?

Do you think arranging meeting with Takuan is still necessary?

i don't...we can deal with it.

the plan, rex, is as follows.
we let them in posession of your ship as deal ensurance. one of our men with pilot skill (not galder, because he lacks the patience of sitting in one place for that long) shall be hiding in a concealed compartiment in the ship.
the deal takes place....they take us to see where they keep the generator and then head back to randevouz with the rest and plan our siege on the place. and by what means we will be carrying the generator. at the very last moment, so as to have the element of surprise, we com-link the one that will be inside the ship and tell him to take off and meet us somewhere....

and now that i think about it....why don't we choose one of the bigger ships as ensurance? when it takes off, we can haev it meet with us and load the generator into it directly (if we own a ship big enough to fit one in). afterwards the ship takes off and meets us in orbit, after we acquire the rest of the small base parts and head back to the starport having gotten everything we said we were here for....parts!

it would be a good way to avoid any unpleasantries when involving the generator with the starport. with that plan, we can skip it completely.

This plan sounds good. I will wait for all players to voice their opinions.

And we could leave Xavier's ally in the ship.

Heavy cargo loading needs specialist equipment- you need the starport.

yeah...well..i't be better to leave a player character in the ship.....in case actions of higher competence are needed when escaping.

I suggest a few things for the plan;
A. Tanic is the man in the ship, unless somebody else wishes to do that.
B. We collect the spare parts before the generator - the longer we wait after the theft, the more likely the people we steal it from will hit back.
C. Since it is a criminal enterprise, we could demand they deliver the generator to the star port before we pay the money (As in, we give them half of our payment, they deliver, we give the other half). It will be a lot easier to take it that way.

Plan-wise, it turns out like this. You offer them Galder's ship as ensurance that we can pay, with Tanic hidden on board. (Although if you'd like to chose somebody who will be around more, then don't choose me - I'm going away for a week the week after next). Then you demand that before payment, they must deliver the generator to your transport ship. Conceal somebody else on board that ship and go with them to the place where you will 'pay' them.

Kill them. Galder drives you off, back to Tanic's ship, where you all board and follow the transport and Galder's ship into orbit.

I dunno, is that coherent enough?

The criminals have offered to use their influence on the quartermasters at the depot to get you a generator- but it will be as if you basically bought it, with the amount you are paying up to the quartermasters and the criminals being less than you would pay on the open market (and tax free) because, basically, this whole area is on the take- it's all horribly corrupt (hence the heavy pirate presence).

But once they say "it's yours", then it is ALL yours- they aren't going to bring it anywhere for you. It will be there in the depot.

besides...there's no half payment before because..wo don't have any money.
and i'm assuming the bureau isn't just going to let us bring a shield generator and load it right in their starport...
it probably implies special forms....which are probably an ass to fake...
so..it's something to think about there also..

It's not as if the Bureau are on shield patrol.

However a. yes, they do tend to look for odd things at the starport, b. one of the points of this whole enterprise is that you are avoiding all the paperwork normally implicity in exporting military equipment outside the Republic, c. you have made yourselves a bit of a nuisance to the Bureau and, I think probably the big problem is that d. the point at which you pull whatever it is you are going to pull is unlikely to be very quiet.

So Takuan is right- extracting the generator is going to be hostile. It is therefore very important that you don't blow your plans in advance, because your best advantage is that no-one really knows why you are here- a quick extraction and loading process is perfectly feasible so long as no-one has acted to specifically stop you doing it.

You're SO optimistic of our chances......

Though yeah, the chances of us pulling this off quietly are pretty slim, someone's bound to do something.

But so long as Galder doesn't kill anyone else and we don't get caught stealing the parts, I think we should be okay.....

*returns from murdering the public*

Are we talking about me again?

So, how do people want to proceed at this point?

well i'll bring the ship ensurance into discussion

Ok, whose ship are you going to offer?

We chose Galder's ship, right?

Gallador seems to be disturbed by something and allows Takuan to take the lead.

I am not caring about what you have discussed; now I want to hear what you actually do on the spot.

did Takuan ever lose it? 😛

takuan clears his throat.
"look...as i have previously mentioned....our boss didn't hand us any money to help with the deal until we see the generator. so we have to solve this between ourselves.
how about if we give you our ship for you to hold until the deal is made ..as ..ensurance.
a ship is worth more than a mere downpayment, i'm sure you agree."
