Comic Book Questions

So I'm having a conversation with some friends and someone blindsides me with an X-dork question.

Of course, it's insanely vague so I couldn't answer it, but I figured I would try here based off of what he remembers:

A character associated with teh X-Men. Apparently a reality-manipulator of some sort, steals powers, etc. He was being contained in a stasis field of some sort to protect others from him, and from the description it sounds like maybe he was with Moira McTaggert for a while. He may have even died at some point and merely existed as energy/spirit before reconstituting himself.

I ran through the list of mutants I know that are powerful enough for stuff like that (Darwin, Vulcan, Nate Grey, Franklin Richards....not a mutant, but meh). He wanted to say it started with a 'E' but that was eve more of a dead end.

...not a big deal if we can't figure it out. He didn't sound too sure, so it might be a mixed-up story anyway.

Franklin Richards is a mutant, Spidey-Dork. 😛

The only mutant character I can think of that was held in containment by Moira with reality warping abilities is Proteus.

That sounds a lot like the Ult version of Proteus.

Hmm. Is that the "magical" guy from the recent Ultimate X-Men arc? And is he a 616 character as well? Because I've honestly never heard of him, but it sounds like the closest thing to a match.

Magician has no obvious counterpart in 616 as of yet.

UltProteus does match just about everything you listed. He did have an involvement with Moria, he is a reality warper and he can steal powers (by possessing a person's body)

My dork cred was on the line, and I told him I'd find out who it was for him. Getting stumped on comic questions is one of the most frustrating things ever....because there really shouldn't be any "lay people" that know enough to ask me a question so obscure I can't answer it.

i think the bio was 2000 onwards but you will see this everywhere if you look around

A lot has changed from 2000 remember. Savage Hulk is never in a calm state, his calmest state may actually be his annoyance, he should lift 90 tons with ease.

yh,but they make it look so pretty ,decorating it with their way off statistics, i hope it was more realistic
